OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Just ran into this wonderful thread! Saw the noodle exchange and want in! Please let me know how to join. I didn't have time to read through all the posts. We're going to be staying at BC from Dec 25-Jan 3. I know, crazy family, but we love DW at Christmas and that works best for the kids schedule. I figure we'll be a the pool quite a bit and the noodles will make it tremendously fun.

Thanks so much!!!!!:goodvibes

We are back from our trip to the Yacht Club.

Our first Disney resort stay and the club level and this Disney resort ROCK!

We had a blast...The service was great, the room was great and the food and beverages in the club lounge were excellent!

I am now trying to figure out a way to get back as soon as possible. :)

My wife and I agreed after walking around the two sister resorts that we made the right choice for our family. The beach club was OK but way to much noise and the "vibe" was certainly different.

The first part of our Disney stay was nice too...The Swan is certainly a nice resort as well, but we can't stop thinking about the club level and the convenience it offered us.

Welcome Back! Another vote for the Dark Side. BTW, I think your perspective might also be true for our family. I guess we'll see. I know that I will prefer the Yacht Club vibe. I'll ask the kids after we get there. We do have one breakfast scheduled for Cape May so we'll see how that goes.

One week from today, we check in!!! The excitement is mounting. The girls are making mousekeeping cards as I type. Just can't wait.:cheer2:

It's been less than a week since I got home from Beach Club- and I'm obsessing about going back! I had a brief 4-day stay with my sister, and I almost was able to take advantage of the bounceback offer to turn my August Coronado Springs stay w/ DD & DH into a Beach Club stay- but alas, I couldn't make it work. Now that I've been talking up BC all week, and sharing my pictures- DD and DH are almost as certain as I am that we will be disappointed w/ anthing less that BC this August. I thought I had a good plan when I discovered the late summer discount offer for 30% off, but alas- foiled! No standard rooms left. Back to the drawing board. I just HAVE to make this work...:scratchin

Tell me, honestly- once you go to BC, are you just totally ruined on anything else?? :rotfl2:

Our kids (9) and (13) loved the Yacht club too. :goodvibes: When we walked into the room they both ran over to me and gave me a big hug. LOL This was even after staying at the swan.

BTW, at the swan we got upgraded from standard to an Epcot view from the 9th floor. We could see the fireworks every night.

At the yacht club our view was of the parking lot but mostly the canal that separates the parking from the resort. I will post some pics.

We ate dinner at the cape may cafe and it was pretty good but man was it loud and busy. LOL.

One more thing......

I am kicking myself for not booking with the bounce back offer left in my room for 35% off. :( Problem was all the dates were this year and I didn't think I could get back...Though if I try hard enough we could probably do it now.

Oh well.

Yes, completely.

OK, I see by your ticker that you did return to Coronado after staying at BC. How did you manage :)? We really do love Coronado, but that was the only resort we had ever stayed at- it's easy to love the only one you've ever been to! Since I was solo at my short BC stay, the rest of the family doesn't have anything to compare it to...

OK, I know I keep asking this question but I am OBSESSING about it and haven't quite gotten an answer. (Is gotten a word?)

We stayed at the BC in March on a quick, last minute decision. The bounce back offer in our room was great, and I believe it's the same one that's there now. We booked our August trip with our BB offer. I am dying to know what kind of offer do you think will be available in mid-late August?? Do you think it will still be the same one?? I DEFINITELY want to book another trip, the offer is great, but won't be able to go until next year, and I know the current one expires at the end of 2012.

Was anyone there last August or around then who remembers??

Thanks!
Linda

Clear inner tubes are permitted but they must be clear. Noodles are permitted. Life vests can be borrowed from the boat docks (possibly) if needed. Floatations devices can be rented but later in the day you may just find them laying around.

I'm pretty sure Dee has this covered in the FAQ section but I'm sure you are busy with the last minute plans. Congratulations on the upcoming wedding. I hope it all goes better than planned.

clarification to the clarification. According to a life guard when i asked a couple of years ago, Only the clear tubes you rent from Disney may be used at sab. You may not bring tubes from home even if they are clear.

You may use noodles you bring from home or purchase.

Can anyone who has been there recently confirm the inner tube policy at SAB? I just want to make sure I tell my family the most up-to-date info for my list of DVC and trip rules/info.

Ok. Y'all will understand.
My son is getting married next Saturday evening. I'm the best man. Around 425 had RSVP'd as of last week. 'Only' 80 expected at rehearsal dinner. As father of the groom I have been told it is up to me to give the toast/introduction at the dinner....How does this sound?

"OK folks. Let's get this over with. This ceremony is all that's standing between me and a week at the Beach Club!"

Wow, big wedding but you're short and sweet speech sounds perfect. My only suggestion would be to add something along the lines of Congrats and Best Wishes to the new Mr. & Mrs xxxxx :goodvibes

Me too!
Can't wait to join you both!!!! :dance3:

Me three! My fam will be checking in on Sun. My plane doesn't get into Orlando until a little after midnight so I'll be sneaking in really late!

That's an easy one. I went to a medical convention with my colleagues and that was where the convention was. ;)

But we did love Coronado when we stayed there as a family! We decided to try BC that first time when they offered that "buy four get three nights free" thing. And the rest is history.......

What is the chair situation at SAB on a hot, summer day? Do they fill up fast in the AM and impossible to find in the afternoon?
How about chair etiquette - there could be 8 of us there at one time (4 adults, 3 children, and 1 adult who turns into a 10 year old when they enter Disney aka myself)!! Is it ok to snag a chair or 2 for our group as a staging place for our stuff?
My personal opinion is it can be annoying when all chairs are taken for a long time by tanners (although this has really only been a problem at the value resorts when school groups are there) or a ton of chairs are being saved for each person in the group. So just trying to find the happy medium!

An item to keep your valuables in for the SAB lovers:

A Vacation Vault: www.vacationvault.com

I have one and have brought in with me on vacay, but I haven't had pool time to actually use it yet. But, I am not checking out of BCV without enjoying some time at SAB so will definitely put it to use then.
