We have 2 days left on super duper passes from 10 years ago. How will these work for us when we arrive? Do we trade them in for the credit card type somewhere? I know we can not use them for the AK but since we just visited in July with DS & DD we don't necessarily mind missing a visit there.

Any info would be helpful, thanks

You can trade them in for a credit card type pass if you want to use the fast pass machines, or, you can just use them as they are,and btw, you can use them for AK, you will, I believe, to trade them in for that.

One thing to be aware of: Guest Services may try to talk you into "upgrading" your pass to a multi-day park hopper. If you do that, they will only give you credit for the original purchase price of your old passes. That may not get you far at today's prices.

Even if you plan to spend more than 2 days at the parks, you are likely much better off using the passes you have in-hand, and then purchase additional passes at face value.

Yup, that's what we did in May. I think that technically you're supposed to upgrade them, but only MK asked us to. MGM and Epcot let us do exactly what Gail said-just come right in. And these were "child's" passes for our now 6' DSs and no one asked for ID or anything.

You are not technically supposed to upgrade old passes.

As was stated early, a pass that old should only be exchanged at no extra cost for a modern style pass which will have the same amount of days on it.

In order to reduce the number of different kinds of passes in the system, Disney has for the last few years modernized old passes at no extra cost to include Animal Kingdom and in some cases MGM.

Also partly used child passes (which are not transferable) are converted to adult passes at no extra charge. If the ticket agent says otherwise, don't pay extra and go to another ticket booth instead. I'm not sure about old unused passes (which are transferable). But you can get through the turnstiles with an old pass on its first day and then it becomes partly used.

When you have a pass modernized, ask for the old pass back as a souvenir. They will stamp "void" on it.

A few people will have a reason for applying the remaining dollar value of an old ticket towards a more expensive new ticket, but these folks are in the minority.

Does anyone know where we get them changed to the modern credit card style? We are only there for a few days so we have no need to upgrade. If they allow access to AK that's fine, if not that's ok too, we were there in July. MGM was open in 1994 so they are valid for that park too.

thanks

I believe they can convert your old passes to the new mag strip at any Guest Services and/or ticketing window at the theme parks. Downtown Disney has a guest services window at botht the marketplace and the west side.

I'm not sure if it can be done at guest services at the Disney resorts.
