Old Non-Expiring Tickets Question

I had old paper magic your way with water park extra and I called the specific ticket office. They handled converting over the phone and email. They put them in my MDE for me and I was ready to go in advance of my trip.

Thank you! I didn’t call yet because I figured everyone there is busy with the hurricane, so I’ll try next week.

Just wanted to bump & give my experience in case anyone else has older tickets. Husband & I had old non expiring Magic Your Way tickets from a resort stay 2006. My note said we had 5 days left. I called the ticket dept number posted by @Dave006 on the first page. Had a bit of a hold time, maybe 15-20 minutes, before I got a CM. She did have many questions like if I remembered the park of 1st use, last time we used them, how many trips we had used them on etc. I didn’t have answers for most of her questions, just knew the number of days I had left & the date I assumed we first used because of the date on the ticket.

After asking all the questions, she gave me an email address & had me send an email with a photo of the tickets attached. She remained on the phone with me while I sent it. She put me on hold while she checked the photo . When she came back online, the tickets were in my MDE account & ready for use. The tickets had water park features still available which are listed separately from the park tickets. She reminded me we’ll need park reservations to use the tickets & answered a few more questions. I already made a reservation for Christmas Day!

The whole call took maybe 40 minutes, including my hold time. I hate doing stuff like this & kept putting it off. But it really was quick & easy. Thanks to everyone who gave info here, I really appreciate it.

On site today and attempted to use a pair of 10-day PH NE tix purchased in 2015. Entered the codes on the tickets and assigned them to me & DW. Couldn't see them in MDE with my other tix. Guest services said they could see them but they were "locked" since they were so old. They needed to see some type of proof that they were in fact my tix. Fortunately, I had the paperwork from my purchase thru Undercover Tourist from nine years ago that I had saved with the tix. Not sure what would have happened if I didn't have that paperwork.

This is a common issue with tickets purchased from third-party agents that have never been used or assigned in MDE. Disney has no record of these tickets in the Guest ticket system. That is why they asked you for additional information.

I did the same thing at Epcot guest services inside the park a year ago. Just had the ticket, unused 10 day NE purchased through a 3rd party just before Disney stopped selling them. They had to call something they called the Avengers, but were able to add it to my account with no paperwork.

Once you convert a non-expiring ticket, does the expiration date get set at that moment, for sometime in the future (ie whatever the expiration date would be if you just bought a new ticket outright)?

No expiration date for my converted tickets. This ticket does, however, require me to make a theme park reservation.

My daughter and I are going in two weeks and we have two-day single park tickets and the old one day park-hopper. I don't need park reservations for the two-day single park tickets because they are date-based. I did have to make a reservation for the other ticket, though.

The ticket remains nonexpiring. So there is no expiration date attached to them. You can still keep them as long as you want. It is not like buying a date based ticket that can expire without using it.
