Old Navy AMAZING SALE!!!

Just wanted to say "thanks" to the OP...I went to my local Old Navy last night and ended up with 14 items for a grand total of $43.00!! I even found two small, patent leather handbags for DD-14 and I to use on our Feb cruise....$.98 each!!! Great graphic tees for DD-9 for $1.99 each and sports/wind pants for DH for $4.00!

When we got home, we added up all the regular prices of our items and it came to $220!

Thanks again!
Sammy

I went today & the 1/2 off clearance sale was over but I still got tons of shirts for my boys for 10¢ each!!!! :hyper:

Sat night I saw a thread about this sale. I called 3 different Old Navy's (trying to find the closest one to my home) and I asked at least two if the sale was still on Sunday. They told me yes. I then went to a local Old Navy Sunday morning, and proceeded to put a ton of stuff in my cart. I had my DD2 with me, so I stepped into the dressing area to go through the stuff (to be out of the way of the other shoppers). There were a few clearance items that had no tags, so I asked one of the attendants if they could price them. Once they had gotten one price I said, "oh, and that's 50% off of that, right?". They proceded to tell me the sale ended yesterday. I was notably upset, but explained that their own reps told me on the phone that the sale was still on for Sunday. The attendant called over a manager (I told him that it wasn't necessary, that I would just not purchase anything), but I had already told him I made the trip specifially for the sale. The manager said they expected some customers to come Sunday because it was advertised as a "weekend sale", even though it ended Sat. It wouldn't be so bad if I had just misunderstood an ad, but their own reps told me to come Sunday! Bottom line is that the manager didn't give me a hard time at all, and allowed me to get the extra 50% (he said they would be honoring it for people that misunderstood the ad). I really don't think I'll be rushing back to Old Navy, even though they handled the situation well. I just don't like the embarrasment of looking like I'm making a stink about things. I did get 2 1/2 bags of Xmas presents and summer clothes, so I'm not complaining....

Much thanks to the OP - I hardly ever go to Old Navy and it's 1/4 mile from my apartment but I remember on Sat. morning that I read on here about a GREAT sale.

Well, I bought shirts for everyone in the family, 15 total, orig. price $164.00, I paid $43.00, WOW!!!

That was a GREAT sale.

Frann,

I hope you can get over this. I don't advocate being a stinker or asking for things that you don't deserve, but you certainly WERE given the wrong information. It sounds like they were very willing to make this offer to keep you as a customer. I applaud the manager for that.

My husband gets embarrased any time I question a price or ask for a discount. These stores are trying to clear out this stuff and are anxious for you to take it with you. They'll just have to mark it down again another weekend if they didn't sell it to you yesterday.

Never be afraid to ask politely for things, particularly when you have been wronged somehow. You'll be amazed at how often you'll get what you ask for. If they are unfriendly about it, just remember that the next time you choose which store to patronize.

The Old Navy stores around here seem to always be understaffed with inexperienced personnel. I don't know if it's because they pay little or the work is just hard, but I seldom see a clerk that acts experienced. I'm not surprised that you got bad info, and probably the Manager was not either.

Just wanted to add that while I was checking out on Saturday the salesgirl told me ALSO that this sale was all weekend but I saw the sign that said "ends November 13, 2004" and I knew that was Saturday.

I wonder why so many salespeople thought this sale was ALL WEEKEND.

I went into the Freehold NJ old navy today and they had a lime green jr tee for $1.97.. I bought it to wear with jeans for my trip in 17 days.

I was just there today too. I got 3 shirts for the Boyfriend for Christmas priced at $10, $4.99 & $7.99 and 2 shirts for me priced at $1.97 & $1.97. I paid $27, and I should have paid around $88. Not HUGE savings, but $61 is VERY worth digging through stuff to me :) It was really picked over, and there wasn't much left in either of our sizes or I think I would have found more.

I had gone to Old Navy the night before the sale (unaware of the upcoming sale). I bought a bunch of stuff all on clearance. The next day I stopped by because I wanted DS to try on a coat before I bought it. I ended coming back w/ my receipt and they adjusted all my previous days purchases to 1/2 off. The best part I left w/ another 2 bags of stuff from the refunded money and still had refunded money left.
