We were looking thru our photos a few days ago, getting wound up for our trip, when we came across some photos of the Circus at EPCOT. There Elephants, acrobats, and even a person that rode a motorcycle on a wire to the top of Space Ship Earth..

Does anyone remember the Captain EO 3D Adventure with Michael Jackson??? That was a 3D Movie of Space, Honey I Shrunk the Audiance is in it's place now.

We even have them of Magic Kingdom, with the over head trolley ride, and athe submarine ride of 20,000 Leagues under the Sea.

A few of MGM Studios. Not much to ride at that time, Back stage ride, Indiana Jones, Great movie ride.

The dates of the photos, March of 1988, our honeymoon. How times have changed for the much better.

See you soon, Stop by at the Pop Century and say Hello. We'll have LGMMH'S in the window.

Yes, I remember.:thumbsup2 The very first time I went to Disney...it was still the Magic Kingdom & the paint was still wet on a lot of the attractions at EPCOT.

Hollywood Studios (MGM-have a hard time getting used to that change, also), the Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, the water parks and a majority of the resorts were still a dream. At that time, there was the Poly, Grand Floridian, and the Contemporary. Most of the land was still rolling hills.

We stayed at the Lake Buena Vista condos. Transportation to the parks was either on a golf cart or by the Disney van.

Waiting in line at rides was unheard of-rode Space Mtn. 9 times in a row...until my older brother got sick.

We just showed up at the restaurants and where whisked right in.

It is amazing just how much it has changed!!! I suppose that is why I take so much comfort in the "old standby" rides of yesteryear.

Do you remember the EXXON ride at EPCOT? It had the animotronic dinosaurs.

I was there when MGM first opened...I remember thinking "Where are the rides?" :confused3 :)
Good thread!:)

I remember Captain EO!! I was soo in love with Michael Jackson back then! :lmao:

Being a FL native and having grown up as a Disney kid, I miss the classics like 20,000 Leagues and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

It's still there but now it features Ellen Degeneres . . . I like her, I think she's hillarious, but frankly, I liked the ride better before.

Same with the Pirates . . . I think they ruined it by throwing Jack Sparrow in there.

Yes, I remember everything you mentioned except for the circus at Epcot. I have very fond memories of the old Disney like Mr. Toad's wild ride, the old toon town, ect. I could go on forever.
