We're off in a few months on my first trip to WDW and we're staying in a one-bedroom villa at Old Key West. We've requested a second floor room with a canal view - but we're not sure if we should be much more specific and actually request a particular room/block. We'd like a view of the water from the second floor, but also want a quiet and secluded room, not too far away from a bus stop as we won't have a car. Any advice from people who have stayed at OKW as to where we should ask to be?

What you describe will be the furthest from the Hospitality house. Look at a map of the resort and request a building number as your first choice and high floor as your second.... Nothing is guaranteed as you can end up on the first floor of the building you ask or a high floor on a building you did not ask for. If you rented points the owner will need to make the request for you so I would keep it short like building X high floor OR high floor building X whichever is most important to you.

Most of those buildings are in the South Point area and they are frequently requested. So don't be surprised if you don't get a canal view room. You know that most of the buildings at OKW don't have elevators, right?

Keep it on one simple request. I always request an upper floor. I hate when I hear people running around above us.

Thank you all. I agree, I'd much rather be on the upper floor and miss out on the thoughtless people above dragging furniture around and opening doors at all hours of the night! We do know there are only a few elevators - it won't be a problem. Fingers crossed we are put somewhere decent🖖

There are very few OKW villas that are not decent. We've stayed all over the place and when we get a new building we find another great villa.
