So we are staying at OKW for the first time and I was wondering about the beach. Will DD get to play in the sand and do they have sand toys or should we bring our own?

Oh yeah the kids can play in the sand, it's right next to the main pool, and it was hard to get my nephew OUT of the sand. But I don't remember any toys being down there, so I would bring mine own.

We saw sandcastle competitions, I think they were every day but not sure. When those were going on, the CMs brought some buckets and toys but they weren't out all the time.

As PPs have said, there is a large sand play area near the feature pool. There is no "beach" at OKW. There are also sand play areas at each of the three quiet pools. You should either bring your own sand toys or plan to buy those available at the general store at the resort.
