old key west

We stayed in an OKW Grand Villa last November-December. It was amazing! I think we were in Bldg 25, but I am not sure.

We like to be near the HH or near the quite pool towards the back of the resort.

You will enjoy all the extra room at OKW. It is very relaxing. Have a great vacation.

So, GoofTroop21 and Mickeyman21, each with 10 posts all in one thread, just had a conversation with themselves? :confused3

Maybe someone is trying to convince themselves this is a good idea?!

Anyway, our last two trips were at OKW. As long as we have a car we like it. Park right out front, remote and quiet, easy DTD access...

Downside is not a ton for those with smaller children. Pool is a bit less exciting than others and dining is limited (1 TS and 1 CS). Olivia's isn't bad, but fairly plain.

But we do like the resort a lot. Stayed at 3 of the DVC resorts now (4th coming soon) and it's #2 of the 3. Of course, BWV is the home resort, so obviously #1.

On the other side, I've been to OKW on my parent's membership 3 times, and the kids loved it. They were as young as 2, and now as old as 20. Finally joined the ranks as owners, and will be there for my birthday in a dedicated 2-bdrm near the hospitality house (not sure if parking lot or poolside)this September. We've been in studios, stuffed in with the rest of the clan in a GV, or a 2-bdrm. Excited to see how things improve with the makeovers. This is also the first trip without a car, but I post that thread somewhere else.
Sorry for the bad accent in subject, but visiting the father-in-law in Long Island (or is that "lawn guyland"?)

What are the chances of getting a GV at Old Key West the end of January at the 7 month mark. I'd love to stay there for my 60th birthday in a couple of years. I'm hoping that will be a slow time & I'll be able to get a GV then.

Haven't tried, but my understanding is any GV at 7 mos. is tough to impossible. But always worth trying.

8 people i really want to try the 3 bedroom you ever try it? I always do the 2 but want more room!

LOVE the 3 bedroom, GVs at OKW! We have 6 people going in January and we're staying in an OKW GV. We've stayed in them several times with as many as 11 people, and they are VERY roomy and comfortable. LOVE the OKW-GV living room! The neat thing is that there are 3 bedrooms but also 4 full bathrooms.

I was able to book a GV for this coming January at just over the 7 month mark. I think I booked it about a week before the 7 month window opened. I had no trouble getting the whole last week of January.
