I've seen very little mention of OKW here...

I'm just about to pull the trigger and book 4 nights in a 1BR villa. Any downsides I need to know? It will be me and husband and 2 kids (6 and just about 3). we'll have a car, and plan to hit the parks 2-3 days of the stay, and hope that the resort will have enough things to do to entertain DH and the kids while I'm in a conference for the other 2 days.

Opinions on OKW? Anyone? Anyone?

it is a DVC resort - you can go over to the DVC planning and find several people willing to tell you everything about OKW.

the villa are the biggest. So you will have a lot of room.

the activties vary - but yes they should be entertained by the activities.

there is also a half basketball court, volleyball court, several tennis courts, boat and bike rental, shuffleboard.

under the lightshouse is spa.

all the pools have hot tubs and playground plus picinic areas.

there is a community hall where you can rent DVD.

there is a computer in the hall for game playing.

all the villa have a DVD.

Love staying at OKW, if not staying at the BWV.

The Community Hall has all sorts of activities. Plus you can rent boats and bikes. Take the boat over to DTD.

We stayed at OKW last year and loved it so much we are going back again this year. The resort is very large, so that is it's one downside. Depending on where you are, it may be difficult to get up to the hospitality house (where the main pool is). BUT, the villas are a great size and it is very quiet and pretty. We had no issues with the buses, compared to other places we've stayed. It is a little bit older, and our villa showed it's age - the AC broke and so did our tv but I am sure that was just our bad luck (things like that seem to happen to us LOL). But we had a great time there and can't wait to go back!!! I really don't think you can go wrong with OKW!

We are going to OKW in June as well....looking forward to the room size of a 2 bdr...and we actually want to RELAX on this trip!! lol I think we can do that here, and the kids will still have fun.
