Hi
we go in October for 3 weeks in a studio, has anybody upgraded to a 1 bedroomed once they got there and if so how much did it cost?
Or is it more cost effective to do it before we go?
btw we have booked with TCD.
thanks
Angie

We stayed in a studio last year and it was a great room. However we had friends staying in a two bedroom (which is the 1 bedroom with the second bedroom being a lock off studio roo) and It was huge. If I had thought about it we probably would have booked a 1 bedroom before.

I would say call disney first and check if there is a availability. If its going to be a lot more and would stretch your budget I would say the studio is more than enough space. We are treating ourselves as this might be our last trip for a while.

Ive just upgraded from a studio to 1 bed for July (12 nights) I rang disney direct as I was worried I'd lose my existing discounts etc - they charged me £600 and honoured all my discounts including the 42% off, free DDP and $150 voucher - I'm so pleased and really glad i did it.:thumbsup2

If you booked when the discount was on I would check with TCD first.

If you upgrade once there you will be charged the difference between the rack rate on the studio and the one bedroom so it will be a lot more.

Did you book direct with Disney originally ? We are thinking of upgrading our room at BC when we go in Nov, but we are booked with CO.

Yes I did - I'd ring CO and ask them to check for you - if Disney gave it me only last week I don't see why they can't also give it to an existing booking with a Tour Operator. It's worth a try anyway. Good Luck.

Thanks for the info, and we had a studio at AKL a few years ago and it was fine, I know the studios are bigger at OKW but this time we will have a 4 year old with us and I was thinking it may make things a little easier having 1 bedroom.

Just upgraded our studio to 1 bedroom booked with WDW UK cost for 14 nights £665 and retained all offers and discounts.

If you are there over Columbus Day weekend that might throw a spanner in the works as they tend to be maxed out for the 4 days around the weekend.

Are there just the 3 of you then? Just a thought but the one bedroom does not have a sofa bed so the four year old would be in the lounge??? We have had both a studio which for two adults and a child is great and you get the two double beds and plenty big enough.Had the one bedroom last time as my mom came and it is soooooo big and very nice.if just the 3 of you I would stick with the studio and use the extra money for spending. If more than 3 in the room I would say upgrade to the one bedroom. We tried to upd
Grade and it was rack room rate so would advise to upgrade from here if you can.:thumbsup2
