Hi: We are looking at staying at the old key west resort. I initially chose french quarter resort which we love , but I think now I would like to try the old key west resort for a little more space and the amenities it offers

. Depending on price will get a studio or maybe a one bedroom unit. It will be my hubby I and my adult daughter who gets severe migraines very easily.

Because of her migraines I am asking if there is a building or area that may be more quiet and away from the bus fumes, maybe looking at trees, pond etc. that we can request. Also any tips for staying at the old key west will be appreciated.

Thanks so much,

Deb.

What you desire describes MOST of the OKW units! I'd get a 1 bedroom if I were you, because a studio is nothing more than a hotel room, but the 1 bedroom will give you lots of extra space and the huge covered porch from which to enjoy that quiet wildlife out there!:thumbsup2

Oh, and you may want to stay away from building 29 (especially if you get a studio). You see, studios at OKW are all on the ends of the building, so you are more likely to get a unit near the roadway if you book a studio.

Last year we were in building 42, which sounds like it would describe your situation well. It was not along a bus route, nor near a bus turn-around. As you can see, the view was nothing "spectactular", but it was very quiet, and being nature lonvers ourselves, we loved all the birds and wildlife we saw.

Hello, thanks for the help sounds like I am on the right track. The picture is beautiful, a nice change from the hectic parks. I am seriously thinking about splurging for a one bedroom as having more room will add to the vacation experience.

Thanks,

Deb.

last january we stayed in bldg 53 or 55. it was at the end of a dead end side road. very quiet.

We often request the turtle pond area for a nice quiet location.

If you want quiet, I also suggest the Turtle Pond area and, possibly, the South Point area.

Avoid areas near the Hospitality House.

Just my $0.02.

We LOVE 45 and 46 and 55 for quiet AND wildlife and view. They are all along the canal.

I stayed in the Turtle Pond area in Oct and it was very quiet and peaceful.

We stayed in a studio on the 3rd floor this Oct. The only sound you could hear was the buses over at South point. They weren't very loud. On the other hand it was directly across from the busstop at Turtle Pond but you wouldn't know it. Never heard them. We had a pond and one hole of the golf course to look at. If you could see through the trees that is. I think next time we would take a 1 bedroom for the extra space though.
OKW is peaceful no matter where you stay, except maybe near the HH.

Rob
