We will be renting DVC in JULY when we take our daughter for the college program. The only two available are OKW and SS. We want to spend a couple of days in the park and one resort day. Which do you like better???
Thanks!
That's a tough one I like SS because it's a short walk to Disney Springs if you stay at the Paddock or Congress Park area, but Olivia's at OKW is one of our favorite restaurants. Both are great resorts and have a great vibe.
We always do SSR over OKW. Disney springs is in walking distance. Pool is fine but being able to go to the shops and have dinner in DS is more of a draw then OKW, plus the rooms at SSR were just remodeled.
I'd check the price difference with Pop or Art of Animation. They are on the Skyliner, which is much better transportation. The summer rates have been cheaper than DVC sometimes.
I like Old Key West as a resort better, but the newly-refurbished rooms at Saratoga Springs are very nice so I'd give it the edge for the next year or two.

I would select the resort based on what you want to do on your resort day. Would you rather walk to Disney Springs for dining or entertainment. I pretty sure the boats from OKW to Disney Springs now operate, but I would check on that to be sure, if you want to go to Disney Springs. I love the option of walking over to Disney Springs. Plus I now need an elevator due to health reasons and all of the buildings at SSR have elevators, whereas at OKW only a handful of buildings have elevators.
From the DVC resort information on the DIS - Buildings 62, 63 and 64 all have elevators but no other Buildings are accessible above the ground floor./QUOTE]
You’ll be happy either way. We own at SSR but have stayed at OKW a couple of times. If the boats are running to DS, I might lean toward OKW. (No clear reason. Less sprawling?)
