I'm wondering how many deluxe studios are located at OKW and which buildings they are in. A map of OKW would be great also if you can post one.
Any other info on OKW would be great too. Staying in December, 2016. Have been to Disney but never stayed at OKW.
Thanks!

I only stayed there once on rented points so I don't have any specific resort info, but we LOVED OKW! My kids could not get enough of the pool and they really enjoyed the recreation center there. The laundry was free at the pools, I have no idea if it still is as that was in 2011, or maybe it was a fluke? We also really enjoyed the meals we had at the sit down restaurant whose name escapes me. We had the best breakfast and dinner there.

Studios are located in all the buildings. We're staying there in early Sept, third time for me. You should probably check out the dvc boards here, on the dis. There should be an OKW specific thread over there. Lots of great info.

There are 230 Studios at Old Key West. All of them are part of a lock-off 2BR unit, which is to say for every 2BR unit booked, one studio comes off the books, and for every studio booked, one 2BR comes off the books.

There are studios in every building.

Studios are usually found at the end of the buildings and stacked on top of each other. Some of the larger U shaped buildings have a studio at the bend of the building. Those studios only have one window, the access to the patio.

They all have two queen beds with a kitchenette (microwave, toaster, coffee maker - 10-12 cup usually, undercounter refrigerator that may or may not have a freezer section). Most of the buildings at OKW do not have elevators, so plan on taking the stairs.

they are located in every building. when you are confirming your order request buildings 11, 12, 13, 14 and 23, 24, 25, 26 (these are preferred rooms).

Actually, there are a few dedicated studios. 1832 is one of them. It's one of the studios with only one window (the door to the porch).

OKW is my favorite DVC resort even though it is not our home resort(VWL). I just like the layout and laid back design and flow of OKW along with the relaxing pool area and the easy boat ride to Disney Springs. As I age the multiple flights of stairs(they always put me on the 3rd floor) get to be an annoyance but other than that it's a great resort.

Is there a particular building that you would prefer for closeness to a bus stop?

What are preferred rooms? Is that a specific category? or do you mean that they are "preferred" by guests? Silly question probably, but I'm just not sure :-)

Is coffee provided as well? Any idea what brand it is? DH may need to bring his own. I prefer OJ. :-)

We're at OKW now....our home resort of many years. A supply of coffee is provided and the brand is Joffrey's. You can easily bring your own; we do. Preferred means that those units (in closer proximity to the Hospitality areas), which must be specifically requested, are guaranteed reservations. We are now in building 25 on Peninsular Road, across from the lighthouse. We tend to request 2nd floor units since there are a good many steps to the 3rd floor units (DH has a bad knee), but yes, the views are wonderful. Have a great time!

Thank you for that info. Guess I'd better call and request a room near the hospitality area. :-)
