Old Key West - Magnetic Doors?

Resort leaders offer holiday-decorating reminder

As Disney Parks and Resorts reflect the spirit of the season with a winter wonderland of holiday decorations, many Disney Vacation Club® Members are decorating their villas in similarly festive fashion.

While Disney Vacation Club welcomes the use of safe decorations that don't damage the finishes of the villa, resort leaders are reminding Members that all decorations should be contained within the villa interiors and therefore shouldn't extend to the balcony or other exterior areas.

This policy, included in Members' condominium documents, is designed to help preserve the carefully crafted architectural stories and visual themes for which Disney Parks and Resorts are famous.

OK Thanks for the info. We have never stayed here. We are using my brother's points. Are there windows that could be decorated? I'm thinking clings and signs hung with suction cups might work.

We are from MD too and also going for Easter break.

There are no windows along the walkway by the entrance doors. Most DVC members don't do what you are thinking about.

cjborne - we will also be at OKW the week before Easter - our first visit to OKW. I hope you have a great time.

As to the decorating - it's just kind of one of those "not really done" things at the DVC and deluxe resorts. I hope that doesn't sound snobby - I don't mean it that way, but it's just how it is.

And most DVC members that I've seen discuss it here would prefer not to see that type of thing at the resort - many like to escape the "everything Disney" kind of vibe - especially at OKW and SSR.

We are so busy while there, certainly no time to do any room decorations. We get flowers for the room sometime but that is it.

Window clinger could certainly be used on the bathroom mirrors inside the villa. Magnetic ones could also work on the refrigerator. There are no rules against making the inside of your villa Easter Bunny friendly (so long as you're not doing anything potentially destructive, like putting tape on furniture & painted surfaces or using nails/thumbtacks).

OP, you know that most of the buildings at OKW don't have elevators, right? You'll want to request a first floor to be handicap accessible for a wheelchair.

If they need WC access, they should have the member call and see if they can get a HC room locked in, otherwise just getting access to the front door might not be enough depending on their specific situation.
