I recently booked a 2bd at OKW-the very nice agent asked me if I had any requests and since we're new to DVC and have never stayed here I had no idea what to ask for! I did mention that our number one priority is to be close to the food! She said that she could not put us down for _____ but she could put us down for __________! I can't remember what she said-but after researching these threads I think she must have said we can't get the HH but we can request to be near Turtle Pond? Does this sound right? Can anyone help me with a specific building number to request? We really do like to be near the dining area and close to a bus stop-by the time we get back to the room each day-it's way to dark to worry about the view! Thanks!

OKW has a reserved HH category, which includes buildings 11 to 14 and 23 to 26. You could request 62-64 or 15-16 and still be close to the HH. Turtle Pond is pretty far. I would not request 27-29 because those rooms are covered in trees.

Thanks! This is great information! We just stayed at POR Riverside and we did not get the bld. that is listed as the closest one to the food court-but the one we did get was right next door-so it worked fine for us!

MS might have mentioned Turtle Pond because it has a snack bar at the pool there. But it has limited hours. The restaurant, shop, main pool, bar, and snack bar are all in the Hospitality House area.

No matter where you are at OKW, you are always relatively near a bus stop, and any bus will stop at HH (where the food is) last. We find we do far less walking at OKW than some of the hotel type DVC resorts.

You are right, that's what the MS agent said...we actually rqsted to be near Turtle Pond, because they have an aracade, a pool and snack bar plus we rqsted building 43 which is one of the buildings that have been renovated.

Also, buildings under 30 have a strange bathroom set up where you would have to go into the master bedroom to get into the bathroom.

I stayed in 43 once, loved it. My other favorite is 37. They are both a long way from the HH but we had a rental car. Didn't use the snack bar or pool there.

I don't mind walking anywhere but just wondering how far away Turtle Pond is from HH?

DebbieB thanks. I have three boys going (16,11,10) with me in July - DH can't go due to being in the middle of a big project so I am trying to think of tired boys. In November we had a room at Kidani that was quite a walk from the lobby and it was tiring after a long day at the parks but if we could hop on a bus it might not be too bad.

Getting more and more excited about going especially since I have managed to get most of my ADRs- so surprised!
