Old Key West and Disney Springs

We are staying at Old Key West June 18-24. We have a reservation on June 18 for Homecomin. If we take the boat to Disney Springs, where does it drop off? Is that the best form of transportation to get to our reservation?

It was near the Hangar Bar on one of our visits, but this was a few years back and could have since changed. It is an easy walk to Homecoming.

When I was at SSR last month, I was told that boats from SSR, OKW & PO all dock
at the Marketplace side since that is where security into DS is located. The boat we took did in fact drop us off there.

Yes, this was our experience, as well. We were expecting to head towards Boathouse, but headed over to the Marketplace instead. But it wasn't a terrible walk, especially with the relatively new bridge that cuts across the lake over to the restaurant district (my term, not Disney's!).

As for the OP's other question, we prefer the boat ride, especially on a nice evening. If I remember correctly, the boats leave every half hour from each end, at the top and bottom of the hour. The other option is the bus, of course, but we'd take the boat every time unless it's raining.

Technically walkable, but it is much further than SSR and the path is closed at night.

Walking from OKW to DS is about 30 minutes to the west side of DS from Hospitality House or about 40 minutes if you go by way of SSR (obviously depending on how fast you walk). I've done both routes.

Thank you everyone for all of your help!! We are so excited for our trip. We are going on a cruise on the Fantasy the week before. When we get back we are sending the husband's home and my two sisters and I are heading to WDW for 6 days. Our Mother passed last year and she was supposed to be with us. We decided to go ahead and take the trip and celebrate her life! Again, thank you all so much!!

Sounds like a great trip. It is great to remember family on a Disney trip. My family will be at OKW that week also.

OKW is our favorite resort. We hang out at the pool, play tennis and shuffleboard, use the fitness center. We aren’t park people so it’s perfect for us.

I was there in DEC. The dock in the middle was closed for covid screening. They were only using the market place dock.

hopefully that changes because it is a total pain

Entrance points to DS are limited for security screening. COVID screening is no longer done on property.

Yea, all we've seen is the security screening. And that's not likely to be changing.

Yes, we rode the boats to DS this past week. They all dock at Marketplace only still.
