Old Key West 101 & Pool Party update post #84

Wayne maybe mid month would capture most folks? We are good for Friday 13th or sunday 15th

.....The only drawback with OKW is the lack of decent counter service options.

We tend to get the basic burgers, chicken strips or a sandwich from the CS place by the main pool or take a bus / boat to DTD and get something there :thumbsup2

Thought I would use this thread rather than starting another(hope you don't mind)

Anyone any prefference to dates for the August OKW pool meet? We are there 8th-28th, thought it might be best arranging a date before we all start making dining reservations next month.

I guess the main pool will be best so we are near to the Gurgling suitcase for anyone that wants drinks.

Any thoughts anyone?

Hi,
Have just arrived home from my work Xmas do! Yes, long story, snow, snow etc!!
Anyway! After probably a bottle of Merlot, I feel the love... (You know, no-one would dance. Boring!!"!)
But would like to add, we don't arrive untill the 23rd... And I so love to boogie!!!!:banana::banana:
not that that is relevent....!x

I suppose it's because they built the villas with either decent little kitchenettes, or full kitchens - they probably thought people wouldn't need a big food court. I have to say it's not something that has ever bothered me - I find that Goods has enough choice for a few quick lunches. I love all the choice available at food courts at other resorts like POR, but that's because I wasn't able to go back to my room and help myself to (cheaper!) drinks from my fridge and make any variety of snacks and meals in my kitchen! :thumbsup2

We stayed at SSR last year and have not stayed at OKW, but during my research into both of them I seem to remember that you could only walk into DD during daylight, for safety reasons.

And if you can't, or don't want to walk, the boat runs every 15 mins between 4 and 11pm :) (And every 30 mins from 11 am - 4 pm)

Here is Part 1 of Denise's (from MouseSteps) photo walk from Olivia's Cafe as far as the Saratoga Springs/Downtown Disney turn offs.

And here is the grocery list at the OKW store, to give you an idea of what is available and the prices.

Would be interested to know how dinner at Olivias compares to other WDW restaurants? We have free DDP and would wnat tot avoid 'wasting' credits

Its one we are considering this year, need to look at menus again.

its highly rated on the restaurant boards, esp if you want somewhere quiet after a busy day in parks.

We've eaten at Olivia's three times.

We like the laid back atmosphere, almost a bit like a family type of feeling there. The CMs are really friendly and the meals always come quickly.

The food has always been lovely! The menu is not the biggest in WDW, not by a long shot but it's got enough choice to please everyone. I can dig out some photos if anyone wants? I have some from dinner and possibly breakfast too.

oh please:goodvibes always love a bit of food porn:rotfl2:
Tracy

Here you go, Tracy (I think we might be chatting on a thread on another board too at the moment?? :D )
