Are companies still buying old gold?

I have a few rings and necklaces that I really could care less about & was thinking its time to get rid of them. I know prices arent what they were. Should I hold onto them a while longer? Do you think the rates may go up again? This isnt something I've ever followed to know if they fluctuate often.
