Old Hickory Steakhouse

Just a quick question after having searched and found nothing really on here, has anyone eaten at the Old Hickory Steakhouse in the Gaylord Palms resort.

It is so far top of my list for our wedding meal, with me not being a fan of "cuisiney food" (if you know what i mean) ruling out many of the other "posher" restaurants.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated

Old Hickory is one of our favourites. It's quite difficult to define as it's upscale, yet casual. As I'm sure you know, it's highly themed, in a Disneyesque way. It's almost kitsch, yet still manages to be refined.

When you say, "Wedding Meal", what do you mean? Just the two of you, or a big gathering?

I'm sure they will with advance notification, but obviously you'll need to get in touch with them. A walk-up party of 20 is probably a no-no.

We went there in May for DH's birthday. It was wonderful. Food not too fancy but excellent quality - and atmosphere was great with a number of small dining rooms making it feel quite an exclusive experience. Very attentive waiters/waitresses who made us feel special.

Hoping to go back there for my birthday in April.

Fantastic place to eat, in fact I would say it's my favourite Steak House in Orlando. Just make sure you have the biggest thing on the menu!
