old guest pass WDW, 1972 or 1973?

I am re-posting this here in the hopes that all you disney historians can help me out, per the suggestion of some other disboard members.


My DH just came across an old WDW Guest ID pass from his first visit ever to the world when he was a kid.
We are trying to figure out what year it was.
At the very top it says:
Walt Disney World
The Vacation Kingdom of The World
The guest's last name is typed in on the first line
the room # and an expiration date of 6-24 (but no year) are on the second line.
The bottom line is for a signature.
Rubber stamped on it is: CONTEMPORARY RESORT HOTEL
The card had a faint imprint of the castle and the contemporary resort on it. The ink apprears to be a golden brown color.
Does anyone have any idea what year this was? 1972 or 1973?

You could always write to Dave Smith (Disney's official Historian) c/o the Disney Magazine. He's got a column for ID-ing ephemera like this.

Does it say "Identification card" at the bottom?

just to answer a few questions. DH's parents are not "disney people" and can't remember which year. Don't seem to want to wrack their brains about it either. Just say "when your sister was little".
Yes the bottom line says IDENTIFICATION CARD, and then really tiny in the lower right hand corner says: walt disney productions

Those cards were in use at least through 1976 (could be even longer).

The stamped name is throwing me a bit because all the ones I have seen filled out with verifiable dates had the resort name printed on them, not stamped. This could be an indication of the year in your case because it tells me it's quite old and possibly from a first printing like this one: from 71-72

although we still don't know the year. We have another idea. To go through all the old photos in the hopes that there's one from that trip (of the little sister, of course) that may have that kodak year stamp on the back!

Ok, here is another odd twist.

This is a Poly id card from March of '76 with the resort name typed in and a "Transportation Only" stamp on it.

Go figure

It would be almost impossible to determine the year of visit from the card unless there is some other slight printing quirk that a paper Disney expert would pick up on. Dave might be able to figure it out, but this would be a tough one even for him. I know more about WDW audio than paper

E-mail him a high res-scan and your ticket might even end up published

Thank you everyone for taking me down memory lane... I just pulled all of my id cards and old admission tickets that were never used A-E and decided to do some kind of framing of all of them... I love all of the old stuff.....

I don't know which year the switch from the card you are showing and the one with the "D" mouse globe logo moved to the inside occured at. The Resort logo inside the card could be an indicator as well as the really bad typing skills
