I was wondering is any of you have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge Club level and how was your experience? How did it compare to other Club Levels and is it worth it vs regular rooms.
Please & Thank you

Check out the club level thread and every so often they mention WL club level. Now granted we don’t know what will change in the future - amount of tables to sit at, food being handed instead of out on counter, etc,etc

Pros - extra space, we enjoyed sitting at a table on an early night in around 9 pm with a drink and dessert while sending teenagers back to the room to shower.
Having water, pop, milk, etc available
Quick breakfast grabs while leaving for park in the morning

Cons - it’s an add on on top of the regular room at WL, or if you stay on the 7th floor , pricier each night.

With that said, in the past we would easily spend $30+ at quick service at roaring fork for breakfast. ( on days when we didn’t eat packed food I brought) add in bottle water say $12 a day to get you started in the morning, 2 glasses of wine in the evening $30. You’re looking at spending $75+ , out of pocket if you were not club level, before enjoying evening apps or dessert. So yeah you can break even.
It’s hard to hit all the times they serve food when touring the parks hard.
Any more specific questions. Just ask away .

We stayed standard view, CL at WL a few years ago and really enjoyed it. IMHO, it was the best CL bang-for-your-buck on property. Many of the standard view rooms in CL have views of CR, the monorail and the MK fireworks, so, for the price, including the view and the lounge offerings, I thought it was well worth it. I also like that the rooms are on a higher floor so it eliminates a lot of the resort noise (lobby, geyser, electric water pageant noise).

We love the old faithful club and think that its gets better with each and every stay. Its definitely a lot smaller than others but that tends to add to its charm. I can think of once out of 20 or so times, not being able to find a seat. More often we've been the only people there. The quality of the food is wonderful. It's more of a meal than other CLs that I've been to at the evening apps time. They do have a meat and cheese tray along with hard boiled eggs at breakfast but no hot egg items. Just oatmeal, I believe. Also, the staff has been absolutely wonderful. For instance they overheard my kids say they dont like pasta with sauce they prefer plain noodles. We found other things they liked and I said nothing to any of the CMs but about 10 minutes later a CM shows up with 2 bowls of plain noodles for my kids. We felt that was very sweet and thoughtful and although completely not necessary, very appreciated.

Would it be better to do the dining plan and regular room or club level with no plan?

That's a tough one. If you are park commandos and will only be there for breakfast, then probably regular room and DP. Also if you like to have a sit down every night, the probably DP. However, if you have a more relaxed touring style and will probably be at the resort to take advantage of the offerings in the evenings then the CL will probably suit you better.

Last trip we did the dining plan also, the one with 1 QS and 1 sit down a day. That we used for lunch and dinner. Ate breakfast in the club. And a few nights evening dessert. We did combine a few sit down credits to eat at Be our guest (2 sit down credits) and pay for candlelight processional (2 credits). So on the night we didn’t have an ADR for dinner, we might stop by the lodge for evening apps then hop to the 2 nd park for a fireworks show. Or down to a Geyser point

All of the CLs have various pros/cons and opinions are highly subjective of course, but in this family’s humble opinion, WL CL is among the best of the bunch. The food/beverage offerings are abundant, the lounge is a beautiful space which really accentuates everything that is wonderful about CL, CL CMs are generally top notch.

We would stay there more often but the CL room count is very small relative to other resorts and it’s harder to find availability. It’s actually one of our currently booked June trips which likely isn’t happening at this point and we were really looking forward to returning. 😢

One downside of WL in general is the small room sizes, no daybed, and the balconies on the CL rooms are the “dormer style” that are smallish and walled in so you can’t really see out if you’re sitting down (some people really don’t like this style balcony). But what WL lacks in the rooms, it make up for with things like CL, the lobby, and common areas.

FYI, CL rooms were recently refurbished and had just reopened before the closure. What few reviews I saw sounded favorable in terms of the new room styles/decor.

Hope that helps!

This is a fantastic idea!!

We are going next year for Christmas and have heard great things! We are trying to decide if we should splurge for club level.

Well, not many resorts do Christmas better than WL. The tree and lobby decorations set the mood perfectly (if you’re into that kind of thing). The CL lounge overlooks the lobby so you can sit there and enjoy the tree and background music all day. It’s really quite lovely.

I seem to remember the WL club having a fridge where they kept canned/bottled beverages throughout the day, including beers. I really liked that, some of the other clubs they kept the beers in the back until the night time dessert/cordial hour, so if you wanted one during the day you’d have to snag a cast member and request it. I liked being able to just open the fridge and grab one without bothering anyone.

They also have two beers on tap too. (Although you do have to ask the CM for those). :-)

If it's doable, I definitely recommend doing CL. The WL is beautiful anytime of year, but especially so during Christmas time. Since the lounge overlooks the lobby, it's very relaxing to sit and watch all the people coming and going, as well as take in the beautiful surroundings :cloud9:.

I agree! It's hard to beat the WL at Christmas time :goodvibes.

I have to agree. We stayed at the WL a few years back during Thanksgiving week and the decorations were absolutely lovely.

I do think that WL has one of the best CL at WDW. The CMs were extremely friendly, the food was great, & the lounge was spacious. We never had an issue finding seats even with it being a busier week. We stayed in a deluxe room because there were 6 of us - 3 adults, 3 kids - for that trip and it was nice to have the bigger room without paying the price of a suite or villa. I honestly loved everything about the place & would definitely return.

I recall that as well. That may have been my husband's favorite part of the lounge
