As you can see from my siggy I have been to DL i don't know how many times. But there is an attraction at DL I vaguely remember from when I was little. It was in Tomorrowland (around the late 1970's early 1980's) where you 'called' different kids from around the world. There was a 'wall' of kids and you picked up a phone receiver and listened to their conversation. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

The experts on this board can help with your question. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I remmeber something like this too but I thought it was at the museum of science and Industry in Chicago. I cant wait to see if Disneyland was where it really was?

Actually thinking harder on this what I remember was when I was under 10 years old and that would be very early 70's or late 60's

I have never been to Chicago so even if it was there as well, that was not where I experienced it.

I don't remember this and checked Yesterland and could not find anything on it. Maybe you can if you know what you are looking for.

I remember on Main Street at the Market store (where you can buy coffee) there were phones you could listen to old recorded conversations. And there was a phone connection in Disneyland to the museum of science and Industry in Chicago. I actually talked with someone and it was around the time The Haunted Mansion ride recently opened. That was fun, because I have family there and have visited the Science & Industry museum.

I remember when I was a child in the 70's there were some big phone booths in TL. I remember my whole family going in and you could call someone on speaker phone for a few minutes. I remember us calling my grandparents and we were all talking to them at once. That and Inner Space. :)

OMG! I remember something like that too. I'm thinking it was in the CircleVision theater wait queue, if I'm not mistaken. AT&T was the sponsor?

I can't remember the sponser. That or Pac Bell? Some phone company anyway.

Where the current Star Tours Fastpass machines are now located, was a space exhibit with NASA items on display. Before that it was used for a Future Phone exhibit. It was themed in Blue and Stainless steel (AT&T ?). It had glass booths with speaker phones and seating for about 6. I believe that you were able to make a free long distance call.

There were phones along the back wall, but I do not remember them as "Kids" phones.

I remember making a long-distance call from there. Years before that they had a display in Tomorrowland about telephones that had video screens on them.

Kinda seems old hat now, with cell phones and Skype.

That's the idea of Tomorrowland, right? :)

I was thinking circlevision as well. I always went to that as a kid and don't remember the phones but that seems like the logical place. It was located where Buzz Lightyear is now.

No specific information on Yesterland, but I'm pretty sure this is where it was, either at the beginning or end of the attraction:

America the Beautiful in CircleVision-360 (1967-1984)
Let the Bell System surround you with nine huge screens for a journey through the United States.

At some point, maybe after 1984, I think I remember one of the airlines taking over the sponsorship, maybe American Airlines or TWA? Ring a bell with anybody else?

In the Bell Telephone Systems Phone Exhibits in Tomorrowland there was a Dial a Character wall in which you would pick up a phone and hear recordings of Disney characters on the other end of the line. You could also hear what your own voice sounded like via phone.

Is that the exhibit you are remembering maybe?

American Space Experience, by NASA?

Was this "wall of kids" brown, with a sun painted on it? I have this picture in my mind and I'm not sure where it came from, but the wall is brown and there are kids from different parts of the world painted on it. OK, this is going to drive me crazy until I figure out what this memory is from. :rotfl:

Are you thinking of the Mary Blair Corridor of Murals that were outside Adventures through Inner Space and Circle Vision building?
