I was cleaning out boxes today and I ran across two Disneyland postcards. They look old but I don't remember acquiring them. One is of Mickey Mouse in a red spacesuit standing in front of a rocket. It says, "Just dropped in from Tomorrowland" on the front and "Mickey Mouse arrives from outer space to greet you at the exciting Tomorrowland Realm at Disneyland near Anaheim, California" on the back.

The other is a "wiggle" picture of Donald Duck in a blue train with "Casey Jr." written on the side and "Disneyland" written on the yellow coal car. On the back it says: "Donald Duck at the throttle of the famous Casey Jr. Railroad in the Fantasyland section of Disneyland. This card was designed by the artists at the Walt Disney Studio exclusively for the Art Corner at Disneyland, Anaheim, California."

Does anyone know anything about these cards? Maybe someone can direct me to a website for Disney postcard collectors? I would like to know if they are worth anything.

Both postcards you mentioned are relatively uncommon and if you search eBay, you might eventually get an idea of what the current value would be...

In 2002, I sold the Mickey card for $67.50 and the Donald jumbo card for $85.00. I haven't kept up with current values, but yes, those two cards are very desirable to collectors.

Thank you so much for the info. Do you know when they were made? I suppose my parents might remember buying them.

I have been checking through my book Disneyland The Nickel Tour ever since I saw your post. This book lists almost every postcard sold at Disneyland from 1954-2000.

The Mickey Mouse postcard is #0593 and was sold at the Art Corner in Tomorrowland. This card was released sometime between 1957-1966. If I were to guess, I would say it was released in 1958 or 1959. This is because card #0594 is Sleeping Beauty and that film came out in 1959.

I have been able to determine that the Donald Duck postcard was published by Pictorial Publications and is called "A Vari-Vue Card". The cards sold for about 20 cents at the Art Corner. They were not individually numbered like most others were. There was one set of four standard size postcards and two Jumbo size cards. The Donald you have is one of the two Jumbo cards.

According to The Nickel Tour, ". . . there were racks and racks of Art Corner postcards, today among the most highly valued of all the cards." There is no value assigned to any of the cards, but it states that some are worth 50 to 100 times more than their original value.

I would check with someone who deals in Disneyana if you want an accurate value. You can't rely on ebay because many times items are for sale on there that the seller knows nothing about. These same items sell for well under their actual value.

You might want to see if your local library has a copy of the book I mentioned. The book itself is a highly sought collectible and often sells for over $300!

Wonderful information! Thank you so much! I don't really know any Disneyana dealers, so if you have any recommendations, please let me know.

Thanks again for all the help. These boards are great! It amazes me how people take their time to assist others around here. Must be Disney magic!

I have the above mentioned post cards plus many more. I have quantity...If you are interested in them please let me know, willing to get rid of at a reasonable price for room in my home...
