Absolutely true! Once you got off the monorail or walked in from the street you were transported into a tropical world. Never quite understood why all that beautiful tropical foliage had to be replaced with couches and tables!

I found this picture today while looking through a box of old photos. My mom confirmed this is me celebrating my 1st birthday at Club 33 in 1979!!! I never even knew I had been there before today and if I hadn’t noticed that glass I still wouldn’t!

This is me, Disneyland 1988, I have no idea who the character is? Honest Jon maybe?

Was so nice when the characters were able to wander around the park and randomly interact with guests. When my now-30 yr old son was about 3-4 he and this character had a whole show going on. My son would pretend to tug his tail and Fox would pretend to get upset, my son would laugh and so on. My husband videotaped it with our huge camcorder and people stopped to watch. So fun!

Thanks! I’m trying to explain to my husband this means we should be members but he’s not on board for some reason!

I was there in 1979 and 1990 and I too don't remember any trees being there! But one of my 1979 pictures show some in the background.
