Old Disney Park photos

Okay, I posted this on another thread, but this is a pic of me I just scanned in from 1978. This is me in what at the time was King Stefan's Banquet Hall (now CRT) at age 12. I'm the one on the booth side in the white t-shirt and glasses with my mom and younger brothers. Last time I was in the castle too!!

I have lots more that I'll post but if anyone is interested, I made a video for my sister of all our old disney pictures and videos. The link is in my sig..."growing up disney."

Thanks to you both my husband and 18 year old son are laughing at me! I'm sitting her bawling like a baby watching your video! It's beautiful.

nikkilovesWDW -

I just watched your "Growing Up Disney" video too. After reading nittany's post I should have known not to watch it work. I'm sitting at my desk quickly wiping away the tears. It is a very beautiful and sweet video.

It has already been posted but I cannot find it, so would someone please post the link to the video? Thanks.

Oh man, that video was killing me! Absolutely reminded me of my sister and me. Loved the end with the ladies taking their children to Disney. It got me, I admit it!!! ::MinnieMo

I'm excited because I just found an old photo album with pictures from a 1986 trip to California with my grandparents. They took me to Disneyland, Universal Studios and Sea World. I'll scan and post some pictures later today.

I adore this thread! I really enjoy looking at all the pictures. It's so fun to see how things can change and how some other things just stay the same. I wish I could remember the parks being so empty. That would be a dream come true! Keep the pictures coming!!! :yay:

Yep, I am crying too. Makes me wish I had a sister :) I just hope one day my boys can make a video like that of all of their trips growing up at disneyworld.

Nikki, I loved this as well! Count me in as one of the weepy ones! I love how it comes full circle!

Me. Back in the FotoToons booth where the Flat Bread Grill Cafe is, at MGM, behind the Splash fountain. There used to be a whole Roger Rabbit themed area back there.

Ahhh!! I have this picture!! Hilarious!! I look like an overtanned poodle in mine. I had the worst perm, lol!!

This thread has made my day!!

:thumbsup2I love all these old pics.
I want a throwback t-shirt like the ones you two have on!
is that a castmember? Was she holding a riding crop?:lmao:

The riding crop is used as some sort of "reward" for the CM. I believe that this CM is a tour guide on the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour. When I took the tour many years ago, the guide we had was given hers in an elaborate presentation at the end of our tour.

They told us why then, but years of neglect have clouded over my memory file in my brain and I cannot remember what it was for. Maybe a certain number of tours given?

Is is that she successfully herded "X" amount of people through the tour?:lmao:
Honestly its one of those "history" things i feel like i NEED to know now!:)

NikkilovesWDW - as a parent who has been taking their children to WDW for years now, your video warms my heart to no end. i hope that someday, my children can look back over their many trips to WDW with each other with such fondness and even better, continue to enjoy it with their own families.

Hey everyone! Thanks so much for the kind comments about my "Growing Up Disney" video. I didn't realize so many of you were crying over it until this thread was bumped this morning and I checked it! I'm so glad so many of you liked it! That makes me so happy. I watch that video at least once a week! Haha. I consider myself very fortunate to have gone to Disney so much growing up and even more fortunate that I had a sister to experience it with! Nowadays, most of our trips are not with each other but our paths will cross on my next trip...coincidentally, the last day of her trip will be the first day of mine so we are going to try to meet up, if only for a few hours. I reeeeally want to recreate some old pictures from that video. I am specifically interested in doing this pose with her again (minus the horizontal-striped rompers!). I love how so much of Epcot is still exactly the same as it always was!
