Dawn, does your mother like Princesses? I thought the meal we had at Ariel's Grotto was very good, and relaxing. The princesses came around in a orderly fashion, and it is not buffet, so we were able to sit on our duffs and enjoy each other's company. That's my thought. I wouldn't mind doing WCT for it, but then I wouldn't want to do that on Sunday. I say you choose what your mom will love the most, and we will do our best to make her feel like the most special birthday girl of all.

Stacie.. my mom's birthday is Oct. 23rd...ya gotta go.. it will be fun, whatever we decide to do.

We are both not big breakfast people..thats why i was thinking lunch.. Do You or anyone else have any ideas for birthday lunch? Or should we do a brunch? I'm doped up on cold medicine.. so any ideas are much appreciated.

Dawn - I vote for Storyteller's. We can order one of the beautiful birthcakes to be delivered there If your mom wants a character meal, we could do late breakfast brunch or if no characters, just wait until the character breakfast is over (I think about 11:00-11:30 ish??) and then do early lunch/brunch! I think she would love a mimosa or a nice glass of champagne (or maybe that's me???)

Awww, darn, I'll still miss it. We won't be getting to DL until later afternoon on Friday, then we are going to check in, let the kids swim, get ready for the party, and eat dinner.

Hey January. Debra's right, I'll be solo for the BBQ. The family doesn't have APs so Ruben's going to keep the kids and they are hanging out with the Grandparents, swimming and taking in a movie at DTD.

But we'll all be at the Halloween party Friday so for sure the kids will get to hang out together then.

They will deliver cakes to any full service restaurant now. I don't know if it's new, but they list it as one of the Celebrate promotion perks.

Cinderella was at our lunch.

If you do the lunch at one of the DLR hotel restaurants, they can bring a cake and balloons (and a signed character picture). They can't do the cake for any of the restaurants in the park though....... There were some really nice pictures of Disneyland cakes on the board before.

Just a Quick Note.. My Mother's Birthday is Oct. 23rd.. and So we will be going on this trip to celebrate her birthday!
I'd like to do a meet for drinks at the Napa Rose, later on the evening of the 23rd to celebrate my mom's birthday, I hope some of you can stop by!

I'm checking flights tonight to see when we can come. Right now it's Oct. 22nd through the 25th.

As of now I am planning to leave on the 17th at 5AM.

We will take Hw 17 to Oregon, then I am not sure what Hwy it is after that, but it is through the middle of Oregon- Bend, Grants Pass (I think), then cross over into CA, head down through Weed, Redding and I-5.

WOah! You are in for a fun week! I asked b/c just in case we were going the same route around the same time we can follow each other. But...you are gonna be there longer. We are leaving late Sunday night or early Monday. Not too sure yet.

12 hours feels like an eternity with a 4 year old who needs constant entertaining. Good thing we have a DVD player.

They may be correct now. As of March, they would not deliver a cake to Ariel's, but maybe that has changed. I can find out

I did just find out though that now you can order the baskets, etc. from Vacation Planning to be sent to some good neighbor hotels - INCLUDING HOJO!!!!! This is very new and very cool

I'm getting a list of amenities sent to me now, so I'll just ask about about which restaurants they can deliver. I know they can do the balloons and autographed pictures at the hotel restaurants as well.

Well, Dawn, you just need to decide where Sally would most enjoy her birthday lunch. It sounds like the group is in whatever you decide.

I do like the idea of a special cake and balloons. If it were my special day that would be the deciding factor. Of course at Ariels, she may meet and chat with Cinderella which would not be possible at ST. Hummmm. I am sure you will pick the best option. We all think your mom is very special.

I have a Premium Disney view room reserved at Hojo's for Oct 23-26. I will leave for work from Anaheim Monday morning like last time. I did get the Ent Rate for all three nights.

Okay - here is the official answer regarding delivering cakes to other restaurants at Disneyland:

Dear Theresa,

At this time we can only deliver cakes to the restaurants at the Disneyland Hotels. I know its in the works to be able to have them delivered to the restaurants starting this year. Please check back with us later, hopefully we will have a more definitive answer for you.

I guess the ones that Mouseplanet is talking about may be different? I know the Pat. E. Cake ones are definitely not the same. These are really good cakes, different fillings, different types of icing, etc. Dawn, I did get the amenities list and there is a birthday package that sounds like it would be great
