they did it because there was no point to demolish something if you're not going to put something in it's place, although they could have handled it better.

There's a blog about some teenagers that swam out to the old Discovery Island. If you google it, you'll probably have some results

After looking at the video, I wonder why Disney doesn't reopen that. It doesn't look like it needs much work, the view from the pyramids are cool, and its handicapped accessable

well considering it's been closed for 13 years it doesn't look that bad

I've actully been in there for food and wine. So sad it's closed.

it's an embaressment what they've left it to be, essentially a convention center. Although I must say it's a poor spot for a pavillion, since it was on the hill and out of the way of fot traffic.
