Does anyone know if WDW is planning anything in the old Body Wars Building? I was not able to go that attraction when it was opened. I was hoping that WDW would not leave it empty for too long. Anyone have any comments?:)

I've heard that the lack of a sponser has resulted in the building looking pretty worn down. I've also heard that from time to time, the building will be used for special events (like wine seminars during F&W), not sure if that's true or not. I imagine until a new sponser is located and an idea for the building put together, it will remain vacant.

That is correct.

The "Wonders of Life" pavilion is still used as an indoor space for special events.
The attractions and ride entrances are no longer available inside the building, however.

The "lack of a sponsor" is the often-quoted reason for the closure, but there are other Epcot FW pavilions which lost their sponsor and are/were continued to be open to guests.

For whatever reason, Disney just decided to NOT operate "Wonders of Life."

The Wonders of Life building is currently housing the Food & Wine Festival Welcome Center. They have used it the past dew years for this purpose. Many of the seminars are being held there every day. There is also a store with F&W related items, a wine bar, and a wine store.

They have been listing it as operating a on seasonal basis, but it was shut own permanetely a few years ago. The former sponsor Metlife had not renewed its contract from what I understand. I also have not heard of any future plans with the building either.

I was just in the building the other night and will be there today. That is a great building. It's a shame they can't find another use for it. It's great for special events but really miss going there on a regular basis.

It's a shame because we always loved this building and its attractions. I was so excited when it was open seasonally in December 2006 and we got to experience it one more time!:goodvibes

I never got to see WoL in it's glory. I was sad when I learned they had closed it down permanently. :(

It's hard to believe that Epcot has 2 empty buildings between Body Wars building and the Odyssey Building.

I never saw Wonders of Life or Body Wars either. But in the 5 or so years that I've been going to WDW it seems that any number of new attractions have opened. In that time alone, there's been Soarin', Expedition Everest, Turtle Talk w/Crush, Toy Story Mania, both Nemo attractions, and the Comedy Floor. I probally missed a few also. So I would guess that something else will wind up going into the old Wonders of Life building before too long.

because it was not popular and they don't want to spend a lot of money there without having a sponsor

AND, the "Millennium Village" Pavilion
(#12 in the maps below.)

Any and all of these buildings are used for private, corporate, and "special" events.

Is Disney will in future will reopen with great attraction, great location and need a headliner attraction in future.:goodvibes :goodvibes

I enjoyed the wonders of life pavillion with body wars. i especially liked Cranium Command. I do hope Disney chooses to put a ride there in the future. Or renovate the building. I heard that they were using the body wars simulators for star tours 2 testing.

Last time I was in the building was in December 23rd 2006. 2 days before Christmas and I was the only one walking through the Body Wars line. When I got to the loading area, there were 4 other people waiting. The operator was on the phone and was actually surprised there were people in line. The queue line was in horrible shape and had dirt/dust all over. The film was kind of grainy.

Even when I went back to Epcot later in the week, Test Track and Soarin were 180 minute standby waits, Body Wars was 20 minutes (I didn't go in, it was on the wait time board). Back in it's prime it was a cool pavillion but it was sad to see it in that state in 2006.

I cannot believe this. WoL was always one of the favorites. Especially Cranium Command. I'm heartbroken!
