What is the oldest ornament on your tree?

Mine is a small glass blue and silver bird with a white brushy tail, it clips onto the branch. I remember it on our tree when I was a child, and I'm 57 so it's probably at least 50 years old, if not older. It may have been one of my parents' first ornaments when they were married in 1955.

I have ornaments from my parents first tree in 1945, and from my grandparents first tree in 1925. There are only 4 of those left.

I have an angel ornament & 2 vintage glass ornaments from my parents' first tree. They were married in 1969, so the ornaments are 45 years old.

My mom decorates her tree with ornaments that belonged to her parents and some that were from my dad's parents. My grandparents were born between 1903 and 1910. I think my sister and I might brawl over who gets them. :thumbsup2

My own oldest ornament was purchased for Christmas 1973 when I was five.

I have an angel tree topper that was used by my Dad's family until my grandfather died in 1946. My grandmother gave it to me in 1977, the year dh and I were married. I don't know how old it actually is, but it's at least 68 years old. I love it.

The cotton ball and construction paper snowman I made in preschool in 1980.

I have my parents mercury glass ornaments that my parents had when they were married in 1940. I keep them in a bowl all year round in my china closet to display.

we have many old ornaments.
most of the very old ones are beautifully painted glass balls.
and a few are very old hand made ones from relatives.
all of our old ones are from at least the early 1940's.
i'm only 28 but my dad is in his 70's and they were one the tree when he was little.

we just put our tree in today.
its a good 10 feet tall and is quite big around.
we always get a big tree though so we have plenty of ornaments to put on it.

I have my "Jimmy's First Christmas" ornament from 1958. My aunt wrote the words with model airplane glue on a plain glass ball then sprinkled it with glitter to create the inscription. About half the letters have chipped away, but I still like it.

Also two glass ornaments from my grandmother which are likely even older.

If I stuck a hook in her head, it would be my aunt:rotfl:

I have several German glass ornaments that belonged to my Grandparents. They were purchased just after the end of the First World War, so they're close to 100 years old.

A small glass orange and silver bird with a white brushy tail, only it has a hook instead of a clip. ;) It belonged to my great grandmother.
