OKW-what views if you don't request?

For those of you who didn't make specific view requests (there must be some people like that left), what type of views have you gotten? We've always requested "Golf view" and never really seen much of the golf course (well, maybe if you lean out way to the left/right, and squint like this...), but you know, it's been real pretty anyways. But are there particularly "bad" views anyone's gotten?

We have stayed at OKW three times. The first time I made no requests when making the reservation. When checking in, I asked for 'quiet'-got the area that is right next to the road . Then when making the next 2 reservations, I asked for 'quiet area' only- no view request. Then we got beautiful golf course view/water fountain area both times.

The only bad view we have even gotten was no view. We were in a studio once on the second floor. The only view was of the trees, but since we were not there for the view, we didn't care.

We never request a view. We sometimes request a location and floor, but view doesn't seem to matter to us.

I was once right next to the road. When we sat on the porch we could clearly see the busses go by. That was not relaxing. Another time I had a studio that was so overgrown that we couldn't see anything but the 1 BR's a/c unit and jungle.

The only bad view I got was when we requested 23 to 26 and got 28. There was practically no view with all the trees. From what I could see through the trees, it looked nice on the other side of the fairway, which would be Turtle Pond Road. I requested that the next time with a water view and got building 31, which was about straight across from 28. That was the best view we ever had, along with 43 the next year. We had 40 last year year, it was OK but close to the road. This year for May I decided to roll the dice a little and just requested water view, we'll see if we get a different area.

maybe I'm just a simpleton, but you know what? there is no view at OKW that I would not be happy with!

Actually at OKW, I prefer to be near one of the quiet pools, so we can walk without too much of a hassle. View really isn't as important. We've stayed twice and had views of the golf course, and ....... I can't remember! We didn't spend any time on the porch, so I'm not really sure! It was bldg. 52 though!

We had no view request when we stayed at OKW in January--- our 1st DVC stay. We did request 3rd floor, NS. We were in bldg. 18, top floor---fabulous! There was a quiet pool to the right, trees and green straight ahead, and golf course, pond around to the left. We could even see fireworks(Epcot???) at night!

Instead of stressing over what we do and don't get, I'm planning to keep requests at a minimum in the future. I kind of like the adventure of it all, plus with knowing that we will be returning, it won't be the end of the world if we don't get that "one perfect view". JMHO

I've never requested a view at OKW...I've always faced water or the golf course. We did have a studio once that had no window in the front and we just saw trees from the balcony....but trees are a nice view imo. Better than the golf course view complete with a/c compressors we've had anyway.

I'm not really picky about views though....as long as there's something pleasant in my view to focus on I'm happy. I don't care if I can see a gas station and a parking lot...if I can see Epcot too (okay, that's at BWV...but you get the idea!)

We didn't request a view, just a non-smoking 1 br, preferably near a pool. We got a room right on the golf course, top floor. It was beautiful!

I always have to be ground floor due to accessibility. I always request a golf course view and like to sit on the patio and watch the swings. I can't remember the bldg # but it was in the back of OKW, but we had a view of a golf tee and could see down the fairway. That was the best. We could watch all the drives and critique the golfers. Some of the ground floor views are obstucted by the landscaping and trees.

We didn't request a view although, unbeknownst to me, DH called and requested building 62. We did get that building, a studio on the second floor with a lovely golf course/pond & fountain view. I was in heaven! Wish I were there right now!!

We have never requested a view, and in 12 trips, we have only had one less than perfect one, and that was on the first floor of building 29 where the trees and brush kind of hem you in. Still, it wasn't bad, because it was peaceful and had quite a lot of wildlife around.

We didn't have a request other than non-smoking and the studio that we were given, 6433, had this view.

I have always say - they started me making request - first time got building 26 - basically a golf view nothing that great - then they put me in building 18 - oh my!!! a great water view!

the next time building 31 - no views - it was the back of the mound used by golfers. So I complainted about the lack of views - I was told then by the front desk to request. they want us (dvc members) happy....of course that was in 1994 and I think maybe they have changed their minds....

BWV - first time - a pool view on the first floor - mother loved it - I didn't - too noisey - second time - a BW view on the 4th floor - loved the view - did not like the noise at night - and I was down right silly - I felt the people walking along the bw were seeing us....

then several pool views - (I learned to hate that silly clown) - so now I request standard view.

VWL - first time - got a nice view of the roof of the walkway going to the bus - it wasn't bad.

second time - got the service shack - not recommended - and everytime I am offered that thing - so I say as nice as possible - what else do you have?
Or mother (who sometimes comes with me) can't walk that far (which is true) I generally push her in a wheelchair - but emergency happen.

BCV - only had my request view of Spaceship Earth!!! I haven't done the no request here - maybe this July. MS (because I am taking mother) wants to put me on first floor - but I don't like the fact that people on the sidewalk can see in those rooms...
