OKW what bldg would you stay in?

Does anyone have any thoughts on which area of OKW is best to stay in for a studio? is it better to be close to the pool? should we ask to be close to the main check in? should we ask for pond view?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My favorite area is also Turtle Pond. My favorite buildings are 31, 37, 43. All have great water/golf views. I've always had a rental car, so distance to the main building was not an issue. I prefer a more quiet area.

Turtle Pond is nice (stayed there twice). Our first OKW stay many years ago was in the Millers Road area and since that stay, I always ask to be away from trafffic noise. The villa location was good otherwise but the noise from the highway PLUS bus after bus turning around with squeaking brakes right in front of our villa was a bit annoying. My favorite location in all of OKW though is SouthPoint. Yes, it is as far as you could possibly be from the Hosp. House but is still less than a ten minute walk. We enjoy being at the back of the resort where it is quieter AND you have easy access to the walking path thru the golf course to Saratoga Springs and Downtown Disney. We are DVC members and my husband enjoys the fitness area at Saratoga and I pool hop there sometimes, too (DVC perk). I'd rather stay at OKW than any other place at Disney because it is so peaceful and a wonderful change of pace after a long day in the parks. Enjoy your visit. The Grand Villas are awesome!!!!!!!

We really like staying in Buildings 18, 19 and 20 in the Miller's Road area. We stayed in Building 20 last January and hope to stay in 1 of these 3 buildings when we return next Saturday (1/19/08). We love having the pool in our back yard. The bus noise was not an issue for us at all. To get to the HH area, you can jump on any bus and the next stop is HH.

We also like the Turtle Pond area. If you're going to be dependent on Disney transportation then you might want to request building 35. Its directly across from a bus stop but far enough away that you don't get any noise from the buses or the people coming and going.

There are at least four pools at OKW - Southpoint pool, Turtle Pond pool (which is the largest of the leisure pools there), Miller's Road pool and main themed pool at the Hospitality House. So you don't have to be near the HH to be near the pool and bus stop. We also like Turtle Pond, but are looking at Southpoint for our next trip. My husband is staying on Miller Road right now so he can walk to the marathon start.

As long as I'm fairly near any pool area, so I am also close to a laundry room, one location is pretty much like any other. Overall, I think I like Turtle Pond and South Point areas the best, but for conveient walking to Olivia's and the store, the cluster of buildings just across the bridge is nice, too.

I've been wondering the same, except for a 1 BR. We usually split time between main pool and quiet pool when we're at DVC. So, I think we'd like something that is about half way between the main and a quiet pool. I know absolutely nothing about OKW. When people say they were a long way from HH can someone help me put that in perspective. Here's my frame of reference. We've stayed at BCV - almost by the self-parking area. So we'd walk from our room to SAB. We've stayed at VWL and have been at the end of the long hallway (dumpster view!!!) and have walked to the feature pool. We've also stayed at POR (I know, not DVC) and had to walk past four or five bldgs, down a path, over a bridge to finally get to the pool. The POR trek seemed long to me, the others were doable. How do these experiences compare to being "far away" from HH at OKW?

I second 35. Its near enough to both the pool and the bus stop. Without hearing all the buses.
