We just became new dvc owners:banana: Looking at the point charts it looks like staying at OKW is a better use of points than at our home resort. Is that a harder reservation to get for the end of May?

It shouldn't be a problem at that time. You can call now to make your reservation, since you're within the 7 month window.
The Epcot DVCs are usually more difficult due to the Flower and Garden Festival (even harder for the F&W).
Last year, we stayed at OKW during the F&GF and had no problem reserving it. It was lovely in May, very lush and tropical.:thumbsup2

True about the value, but SSR isn't that many more points than OKW. It shouldn't be a problem at any rate.

I suggest you try all the resorts at some point - but it's a nice tradition to have your first trip "home" be to your home resort. OKW and SSR tend to be the easiest reservations to make because they are the largest resorts.

Have a great first trip and party: Welcome Home!!!!

Thank you for your responses. We are so excited. Even though we just got back we can't wait to go again. Thats the beauty of DVC! And I'm already liking this welcome home thing :goodvibes

We just got home too! Great trip, and unbelievable weather!!!!!

We stayed at OKW, but we had the chance to visit SSR while we were there. As usual with Disney,....the villas were beautiful, but I admit we liked that OKW units are larger (except for GV's) and almost all of the balconies at OKW have golf course or lake views (vs. parking lot or other units).

I agree, though, take the opportunity to stay at all of them at least once!

Do you have to ask for the view type at OKW when you make the ressies?
Probably the best thing to ask for at OKW is a Villa close to the Hospitality House. That makes for a short walk to Oliva's, and the boat dock for transport to DTD.
