Okw Vcr

I just called OKW to make sure rooms still have VCR's rather than DVD players, and they said this is the case. However, I forgot to ask if the remotes are still available for programming the VCR. (We were at BW in January - no remote for VCR and couldn't get one from Housekeeping/Maintenance - don't remember who I called.)

So, anyone who has been in an OKW 1-bedroom recently, do you remember seeing a VCR remote?

it is there - but it doesn't work - you have to call maintence and they bring the old ones that work - make sure you know what you want to tape and have your list ready - so that he can program it for you. (or you might have too - mind wasn't very familiar with it - but I could work it - so that doesn't matter)

now the one in the room will work the VCR it just won't tape it - or my didn't -

No only BCV has the DVD.

Thanks, SpiceyCat. So maintenance will bring an older remote? (BW did not offer that.) And program it for me?? Cool.

Remember when they used to have the green cards in the rooms with the VCR instructions? Much easier, in my opinion. Wonder why they did away with them.

Hey I remember when there was a book showing you how to work everything - even had the real instructions - probably for the same reason - they claimed that people were taking them as souvenirs and they were too expensive to kept replacing. despite they had printed on the front - this is not to leave this villa.

when you call for maintence/housekeeping - make sure they understand that you want to record (so they will bring the controller the first time)

Wow, a remote to program? So does that mean I can program it to record "Zip-a-Dee-Do-Da"? Please let me know if anyone's done this.
Also, can you bring one or two VCR tapes of your own to watch? DH and DS aren't really Disney Video types. They're more in to "Platoon" and "Terminator" type stuff.

If you are talking about their "resort channel" or their "theme park" channel - yes at OKW you can record these if you have the right controller.

yes to just watch VCR the controller in the room works fine - but for some reason it won't work to record

You know I don't seem to remember that the VCR in BWV would ever let you record. OKW has different VCR's.

On my first trip to OKW 3 years ago I taped the Resort and DVC channels!

We're arriving next Friday (it seems like it will never get here ), I'll have to throw my Sony remote into the bag. Airport security might wonder about that!

At the annual meeting they reported that they are in the process of switching over to DVD at OKW. They're still in transition so VCRs are still around.

Now, which will be the first resort to get TiVo?

I would love to have Tivo at the resort! It's the second best thing I've ever bought (DVC being first, of course). I'm dreading having to watch live TV with commercials.

I don't know which I love talking about more -- DVC or Tivo!!
