The Disney Files mag that I got today says that OKW is scheduled for 2010.

As it is a fairly large resort, there will likely be a few buildings down throughout the year.

In August I was told that 2010 the resort is being completely refurbished, including all new decorating.

When I stayed there I was totally disappointed with the rooms, especially since we had just finished a stay at the THV.

The Annual Members Meeting announced that OKW would be getting painting, some furnishings and flat screen TVs beginning Spring 2010.

At the Annual Meeting today, Sonja Deese-Byrnes, OKW GM announced that beginning in Spring, 2010 (and lasting for about a year) OKW will get a major rehab, including painting, new flooring, new soft goods, ceiling fans and flat screen TVs plus a rehab of the feature pool.

In 2009, 14 buildings have completed fresh paint and all building have had balcony awnings replaced.

I just booked this week a trip in early June 2010 to OKW. As it will be boiling down in Florida at that time, we are planning on spending a majority of our time at the feature pool. Should we be concerned that they could be shutting it down during our trip??

They usually try to rehab pools in the cooler months, but it is possible for a major rehab that it could be closed in June.

On the bright side, OKW has three other very nice pools, just no slides at the neighborhood pools.

I would love new pillow top mattresses. This is one of the reasons we are not staying at OKW this Jan. We have reservations for June 2010, I hope the pool is not down for rehab. Does anyone know how you can find out?

Can you believe that, the information that the CM at check-in gave me last August was correct!!!! That was a full 4 months before the announcement.
