Has anyone stayed in this unit??? Does 14F, mean Building 14, unit F??? Any info would be great?

As I understand it, the unit numbers do not necessarily correspond to the building numbers.

I have no idea what that means! There is a building 14, but no way would you know ahead of time even if you requested it. That is in the Hospitality House booking catagory, and is directly across the street from Hospitality House....not our favorite area, but great for bus access.

It sounds like this is an RCI exchange, and as such, they give you a bogus room assignment. Building 14 would have unit numbers ranging from 1410-1430.

Building 14 is in the HH area. We like that area but not some of building 14. Some of the rooms in that building is right next to the road and the bridge area where all the traffic for the resort comes by. I don't like to be near the road too much noise for me.

yes it is...thats the unit number on my confirmation.

That may be the "unit number" on your confirmation, but as I said earlier, it's a bogus number, since it has no real equivalent in real room numbers. All units in building 14 would start with 14 and end in two other digits. The third digit would denote the floor and the last digit the specific unit on that floor. 14F has no real meaning. In fact, you might not actually be in building 14. I'm not sure why RCI does that, but I'd like to hear from others who have exchanged in through RCI and have already taken their trip to see if the number they were given was in actuality the building they were eventually placed in. Since DVC doesn't usually make room assignments until 7-10 days out, I'd be surprised if that was the case.

I believe that code at OKW means "1 Bedroom, sleeps 4, Friday check-in."

Unit assignments for exchanges are not made at exchange time, but rather at or shortly before check-in, just as they are for anyone else. Exchange inventory is also drawn from a specific booking pool, and that can't be changed. So, for example, this 1BR is either in the HH area, or it is not. You can call Member Services to find out---but it almost certainly is not, as MS tends not to deposit views that are in high Member demand.

The one thing you should know: there was a design change about midway through the resort's buildout. Buildings 29 and lower do *not* have a door between the living room and the bathroom---you have to go through the master bedroom to get there. Buildings 30 and higher do have such a door. So, if you have anyone on the pull-out, you might want to note a request for a unit with that door.

I don't know the answer to this question, but couldn't the 14F just be the actual contract assigned unit number. So when someone trades into RCI, their contract unit number for the points they are depositing are passed on.

We all have one (or a % of a unit), and it means ABSOLUTELY nothing as we know; if Disney just passes this information on to RCI, it would still be the same. Room assignments including building, etc would just be handled as normal.

.

Now that makes sense! As I said, I knew it wasn't a room number, but I have heard others quote these strange numbers before, and I couldn't imagine what it meant.
