OKW Turtle Pond (or Pool?)

We're staying at OKW for the first time in about 5 years. I have a confirmed HH reservation because I thought it would be easier with kids. My other stays at OLW were also in the HH area so we could get to the main pool easier, so I have no experience with other parts of the resort.

The other day I read a post about rooms near Turtle Pond (or something like that) where there is a pool bar, and all of a sudden that area sounded good to me. Where is it on the property and what about this pool bar? Does anyone have photos? It may be too late to switch, but I may try if I can get a good sense of what the area is like.

TIA

I would not call it a "pool bar". I would call it "a place near the pool where snacks and a few different varieties of adult beverages are available."

We haven't gone in the off season in awhile but occasionally the snack hut would be closed. There is a playground, shuffle board and pool. There isn't a slide or a lifeguard.

Here are a couple of photos of the Old Turtle Pond pool and Snack Bar. - (sorry about the size of the photos) :(

To each his own. Turtle Pond is our LEAST favorite area of OKW. I'd have to say our favorite is near South Point and the South Point pool. No bar, but nice and quiet and it's the second bus stop coming in, so quick to get home at night. It is also near the walkway to DTD.

Diane,

What don't you like about Turtle Pond? I have stayed in the South Point area and it is very nice. We were in building 46. Loved the waterview. :cloud9:

And is there a hot tub at the Turtle Pond area?

Thanks

Thanks everyone for the photos and the links! I guess what I'll do is keep my HH room and then go over to Turtle Pond and use the pool and get a feel for myself as to whether or not it's something we want to try next time at OKW.

Again, thanks for the input!

The Turtle Pond area is really nice if you are looking for a quiet tucked away villa. The pool tends to be used as a more quiet pool area and the drink and snack choices are limited though. It is a LONG walk to HH however. If you have kids definitely keep your HH room:thumbsup2
