For the last several nights (Sun-Tues), the DIS Christmas Tree Exchange OKW #2 tree
cheer2
has been twinkling at travelers on Trumbo Canal from Villa 4524.
We were there on a too-brief visit and managed to squeeze into the Christmas Tree Exchange being coordinated so skillfully and unselfishly by "lodge." Having seen the mechanics of the exchange from the inside now, I can't tell you what a service these coordinators and tree donors provide!
For a number of years, I've thought two things really symbolized the DIS DVC boards community spirit. One was the outpouring of support for Dani and Stacey on the "Sad Story" thread several years ago, and the other has been the yearly sharing of holiday joy with the tree exchanges. This was our first year of being able to participate in the tree exchange -- hopefully not our last!
We were supposed to pick up the tree on Saturday, but had guests and ran out of time. We got the tree on Sunday and set it up on the corner table right by the window, so people passing below on the canal could share our holiday spirit. Hopefully, a few of you saw it...
Happy Holidays everyone!
Jim, Allison, and Danielle
