This will be our first trip to WDW over the Thanksgiving holiday - I seem to recall in past years reading somewhere that Olivia's offered Thanksgiving dinners that they delivered to the villas. Has anyone done this in the past?

Think we'd like to "stay home" for our thanksgiving meal - we won't be getting to OKW until sometime after 7 the day before Thanksgiving..so don't really have time to go shopping, cook the next day ect...besides, that's what we want to avoid this year!

What have you all done for Thanksgiving dinner in the Villa? We will be in a 1 bedroom unit..just the 2 of us.

thanks!

You may want to check and see whether they'll be offering this option this year. It seems like things like that tend to change year-to-year.

I have seen reports from folks who have ordered the whole dinner from the different area grocery stores (you have to pick it up). Gooding's and Publix both offer this servivce. Maybe you'll get some first hand reports on that option as well.

We ordered a turkey from Goodings for Christmas last year. We got a precooked turkey (just had to heat it up, but even that took a long time), dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberries and rolls. I think it was about $30 for everything. We ordered the smaller turkey. We picked it up on Christmas Eve day. We did Thanksgiving dinner at Olivia's one year and it wasn't very good. Our son didn't want it so he got a grilled cheese and fries. Let me just say, I wish I had gotten what he had gotten. The turkey was more like pressed turkey loaf and not carved turkey. The sides were not very good and the pumpkin pie was the tiniest slice with the smalled dollop of whipped cream I have ever seen.
While I like eating at Olivia's, I wouldn't do the prepared dinner again.

We picked up a pre done Thanksgiving meal at Publix and reheated it on Thanksgiving Day. It was great and we had leftovers like at home! YUM!!!!!!!!

In '99 Disney offered a complete Turkey dinner. It was delivered by two colonial dressed ladies at the time of your choosing. It was ready to eat. Unfortunately, they have not offered it since. In '01 we ordered the cooked Turkey dinner from Publix and while it was a little more work(you must pick it up on Wed and reheat everything) it worked out great. Love the leftovers. We're doing it again this year. Arriving as late as you are it might be difficult to get a dinner pulled together to fix in the villa. Hopefully. someone will have an idea. If not. check on the Restaurant board for suggestions. Also if you have a car there might be something off-site but I would try to get a PS soon.

We chickened out ;) and made LLT ressies for Thanksgiving dinner instead.

Maybe next year, we'll give a pre-cooked deal a try. There's also a chance we'll be at HHI (haven't decided), where I hear the resort will cook'm for you.
