How was it? Do you like it better or worse than the other resort studio set ups with the sofa bed? I am thinking of possibly going to WDW in late Jan. and staying at a Studio for the first time. There will be myself, hubby, 11 year old son and possibly our 19 year old daughter for 5 nights. We have always stayed in a 2 bedroom because our 15 almost 16 year old son is always with us. However he does not want to go so it will be either 3 or 4 of us for a short trip. We would arrive on Wed. night and fly home on Monday or arrive on Thursday night and fly home on Tuesday.

Are the studios larger than most studios since OKW villas are much bigger? We are SSR owners so we could stay there too but since we are doing the studio thing I was thinking MORE SPACE at OKW.

Thanks for any tips/advice/opinions. I would think if it were just two people staying in a studio most would want the sofa instead.

I didn't like it as much as other studios because having two beds filled up the room. I like having a sitting area with the sofa.

I love it, but that is partly because my family and I just sleep get ready in our rooms. The 2 queen beds are so comfy. I feel that there is plenty of room. There is a table with a couple of chairs and a small balcony/patio. There is also a kitchenette and a real closet.

We love the studios at OKW. :goodvibes

I love the studios at OKW. As someone who had to sleep on a pull out, I can tell you that having that second bed is heavenly. If we need a space to sit down, we can use the table and chairs. Or if we need some time away from the others, we just go out on the balcony and use the table and chairs.

I wouldn't want to spend a ton of time in the room but for sleeping and winding down from the day it's fine. I guess it depends on your needs.

Well we always spend more time in the parks on the JAN. trips because the weather is soooooo great. In the summer we like to come back for chill time and swimming but in Jan. we tend to be out a lot longer. I am thinking it would be fine probably for a Jan. trip for 3 or 4 people.

Hated it. The lack of a sofa was terrible. There was no place to sit and watch TV other than the bed. Smelled really bad too. So if you stay there take airfreshers with you. I was so glad I did.

WOW did you tell someone about the smell. I would have asked to move into another room. We have stayed at OKW in two bedrooms twice and loved it.

We absolutely love the OKW studios. They are the largest DVC studios so they don't feel cramped with a second bed, IMO. There is plenty of closet space and I love the layout of the Kitchenette/Bathroom area.

We are a family of 4 w/2 teens that also usually stays in a larger unit, but the OKW studios have worked wonderfully for us several times. We've never had issues with odors and there are two chairs (along with a table) if you don't want to sit on the beds. There are also two chairs on the balcony that you could bring in for additional seating, if needed/desired.

I think 2 beds are nice, so if you need them that's a plus. I am not a fan of the kitchette/bathroom set up. I don't like the kitchenette right outside bathroom door at all! However, when I go to a studio with DGF's I always give them the option of my booking an OKW studio because of the 2 Q's.

We have had no issue with bad smells.

I am hoping someone posts some pictures of the studios there. You can't really tell from the pictures on the Allears website. I am trying to picture how the kitchenette is as far as the bathroom door is. Is it as close as the BLT studios that people keep complaining about?

It's a smaller amount of points than many of the others. You get two beds,. The bathroom is nice and big. You'll still have a microwave for a quick warm up on coffee/tea..or popcorn in the room, a mini fridge for cold drinks...that kind of stuff. Just ask to be near the hospitality house if you want be close to the food, drink refills, or boat access to downtown disney...otherwise, it's a hike to some spots.

If you get tired of seeing eachother in the room, Downtown disney is a fun boatride away for a stroll at night....

btw...I'm with you about those winter months and the weather in FL....I love it!!!!

I don't know that anyone else here has complained about the kitchenette/bathroom location,(it's really "my" hangup) but you walk right out the bathroom door and you are in the kitchette. You have to walk through the kitchette from the bed area to get to the bathroom.

The bathroom is large...and the stand alone sink is in it, not outside, so it's not like the problem with BLT. In fact, the bathroom in the OKW studio is the only studio that I remember having a natural light opaque window in it. It's an old fashioned sort of idea, a window in a bathroom! Not to open, just for "natural" light...I like that.

Although...heck...you've stayed at OKW before so I'm not telling you anything new as far as hospitality House etc... sorry...I just get excited about the resort....I really like it. VWL used to be my fav....but OKW has taken 1st place in my heart now....

We really like OKW but the beds are hard as a rock. Perhaps you will luck out and get a room with newer beds.

I don't think the firmness of the bed has to do with age. If anything, the bed gets softer with age. I noticed the bed last year at BWV was hard, I think they are just buying very firm beds, probably to get longer use out of them.

The last time I stayed at OKW it was with 3 friends in a studio, so it was good having 2 queens. I wouldn't want to stay in a studio with a sofabed with 3 other adults. I think it's alot to expect 2 unrelated adults to sleep on a double sofabed.

We noticed both trips at OKW that the beds were firm but after two nights we were fine. :goodvibes

Okay the OKW studio LOOKS HUGE. I looked at the 360 view and I see the bathroom and kitchenette. Is the closet across from the kitchenette? IF you are walking into the bathroom the kitchenette is on the right before you walk in and is the closet to the left

Bobbi I went on the DVC website to look at the 360 tour. I see what you mean. It is very spacious though. I really like that size studio. I won't mind the kitchenette/bathroom deal.
