OKW Studio - any particular one to recommend?

Am thinking about trying to request a specific area of OKW seeing as having looked at the layout for the first time, I can't believe how big it is!

We have a studio booked for September, and though we intend on doing the fireworks on an evening where possible, the two little ones (4 & 8) will no doubt be shattered so we anticipate a few evenings being spent back in our room (they don't do late nights!), fairly early.

Whilst I appreciate that the balcony will be slightly less salubrious when compared to the one at Buckingham Palace, we're looking forward to sharing a bottle of wine or two and would therefore prefer to have a decent view, be it golf course or whatever. I'm not too fussed about being near Hospitality House or anything, as we don't mind walking, but anyone have an idea of a particular building that has a decent view? :confused3

Building 45 (and probably some others) has a lovely view of the water. We spent many a pleasant evening sat on the balcony waving at the DTD boats that went past.

We don't mind where we are, just an upstairs room. Last August our allocated room was near HH but ground level, I asked for upstairs, CM was appologetic only one they had was far away, building 55 and pool next to it was being refurbed. Didn't bother us have a car and probably wouldn't use the pool much and there are 2 others. Would be more than happy if we got same room again this year.

View we had from our balcony.

Thanks for the links--didn't even think of that!! :worship::worship:Appreciate your help. The shots are awesome.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Have reservations at Coronado, but maybe someday would like to take in OKW. Love the real Key West and environs. Definitely need the sunshine and warmth. It's been a long winter!!

Have fun!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

We have had more snow this winter than the last 20 years added together, lived here 20 years with hardly a problem. This winter our car has been snowed in at least 20 days.

We did OKW last August and again this August, they have done great deals for us in UK on OKW or SSR, £100/night ($150) incl tax and free dining for upto 4 people. We can book upto 21 nights at that rate so we are doing the max this year & 4 nights up at a Universal hotel.:thumbsup2

Now that's a deal. Free dining for 21 days and $150/night :yay::yay:Not sure on Universal--they seem a bit pricey. When we drive from CT, sometimes stay offsite and watch for the Universal ticket prices on AAA. Haven't been for awhile. Oldest in Alaska now. We actually camped (in a tent) years ago in April--just beautiful. Stayed in the cabins in August 2008--a vacation within a vacation. Rented the carts; well, you can just imagine!!

DD17 graduates this year, so we are staying April 12 (one night ASMU) as we get in about 6:30 p.m. April 13-20th staying at CSR. Total price is $2033 w/tax (includes room, free, quick-service dining, added the table service upgrade for $10 pp pn, 1 ticket pp basic. Didn't think that was too bad, but your deal can't be beat!! Almost pays you to go!!

Other DS14 and I will have lunch with the Imagineer at the Brown Derby on April14th :yay::yay: He is soooooo into Disney. Me too I guess!! DH & DD17 will do their thing as well.

On a side note DD17 was taught soccer (football) skills by a coach in Manchester who worked for MLS. Wonderful person, superior skills and just an amazing person in general. We miss him.

Have a wonderful vacation with your family in August -- truly a fun time to go temp. is just right. Hope to see your awesome pictures.

Thanks again.:goodvibes:goodvibes

Thanks for the replies :thumbsup2

Both 45 and 55 look brilliant as far as river views go, your photo's looked great Wayne, the fact that there's a quiet pool near is very handy also.

I realise I can ask for these buildings when I check in, can I fax the resort prior to me arriving to request this? I realise it's only a request, but I would love to give us the best chance of getting one of these locations.

we stayed at OKW last trip. The 1st room offered was totally unsuitable for us so we switched straight away.We were given a room on the ground floor with wheelchair access. However it didn't have a bath, just a walk in shower. I was also surpised that they would want to take out a wheelchair accessable room for 2weeks.

If you need a bath, and we did as my youngest just doesn't like showers, make this clear when you check-in.

having a cold glass of wine on the balcony was a real grown up highlight of our trip......ahhhh the memories - enjoy:goodvibes

OKW does not accept faxes - it has been in the Member Handbook for several years.
So, if you want to make a request, just call back the number you used to book and make the request there.
