I am wondering where they get the sand for the OKW play area. I want to get some (bulk) for my kids playland. Anyone know how to go about this?

check your yellow pages for "gravel pit", gravel", "fill dirt", and "dirt". I just bought 9 yards for $60. It is fairly clean. If you want it more clean you can do it yourself easy. Just screen it and wash it.

I know we've gotten play sand from Toys R Us and the Home Depot also. Here in PA, this is sold seasonally.

Just drive to South Jersey with a pick-up truck and a shovel. Help yourself,we got plenty.

1) Sounds good.
2) But my state won't allow imports from NJ.

We just replaced our Home Depot sand with Toys R Us playsand. There's a big difference. The new sand is white and very fine grains. It's wonderful playsand. Also, when wet, it has a different wetness texture to it.

But.....I notice when the kids spill it on the deck, the deck tends to get a bit slippery. I think we're going need to move the sandbox off the deck.

Hey KNWVIKING
If we keep having these Nor'easters we won't have any to share. Don't be giving away my beach! :)
