Hi,

We have rented points from a Dvc member for a 1 bedroom at OKW in December. We are light sleepers so we like to stay away from highway noise if possible. Also we have a 2 year old princess who love to look at the water and maybe feed the ducks. Could anyone give us a building # to possible request that would meet the two above conditions? We realize its just a request and not guaranteed.

Thanks

I just got back from OKW on June 30th we were on Turtle Pond Road in a 1BR at Building 31 we had a first floor room that is great with the little one and a stroller. My 2 DD ages 3 & 9 were on the patio every morning feeding the ducks and rabbits with a great view of a pond with a fountain. It was very quiet at night and even during the day and the resort was full. I do not know how far a request for a specific building will get you but I would try for Turtle Pond and Ground Floor. Just specify you do not want a Handicap room....That was the first room they gave me and they didn't make it to easy for me to change. Either way I am sure you will have a great time...The resort is very nice....

DH is a very light sleeper, too, and when we were in our 1 BR in building 32 or 33 (I can't remember which), he said the music from the main pool kept him awake at night because our balcony faced the main pool. Frankly, I think it was just an excuse-he has a very hard time sleeping when he's not home. In November, we were in building #15, and we had no problems with noise, unless you count the little princess downstairs who would go out on her balcony every morning around 7:00am and call very loudly "Where aahh you, geese?" Several mornings she was even dressed in her princess costume. Even DH thought that was adorable, not at all what we'd call "Noise". We like the upper floor so we don't get footsteps above us, though.

What you want is available in MANY OKW buildings. The best would probably be buildings 46, 47, 55, 64, 62 in addition to the ones already mentioned. I guess I would reconsider the 1st floor location if noise is an issue though, because you MIGHT get a less than quiet family above you with lots of running kids with super balls who bounce them at 5 AM like we have several times. If you request the top floor, you will have none of that. The stairs at OKW are low rise ones, and easy to navigate.
