OKW Room Request

We will be at OKW in March and booked through David's DVC Rentals. OKW is the only Disney resort I've never stayed in or even visited. I'd like to make a room request and would love any input. DH is not a huge theme park guy and we will probably spend more time at the resort than usual. We will have a car and could drive to the main pool if the weather allows for swimming but prefer to use the buses to the parks.

Here's the info:

Room type
Standard View Studio

Dates
5 nights mid March

Wants
Close to transportation
First or second stop for park bound buses
Away from major roads
Refurbished room
Nice (fairly private) balcony view
Upper floor

Not important
Proximity to pool
Proximity to dining
Elevator

Thanks!

I like buildings 45 & 46. None of the buildings at OKW are very far from a bus stop bc there are so many. You can walk to either the first or second bus stop from 45 & 46. Otherwise, any of the Peninsular Road buildings that aren't HH will fit the bill :-)

You'll want Peninsular Road area (Bldg 27-29) or South Point. Those are the first two bus stops. 45 and 46 are midway between Peninsular Road and South Point bus stops. We stayed in 45 once and thought it was really noisy with the buses stopping at the stop sign to turn onto Turtle Pond. Squealing brakes all day and night long.

Thanks for the noise tip! DH is the camping in the wilderness type and hates the noise and crowds at WDW. I usually go solo but he was tempted into a visit by our adult daughter.

South Point can give you a Trumbo Canal view, too, if you are in 45.46, 54, 55 or 56. We stayed in 55 once and thought it was the quietest one yet. Bldg 15 is right near the golf course, close to the island green, so it fun to watch the golfers hit into the water there. Thanks everyone, I put in a request via touring plans for building 55 (5520).

We found a list of rooms that were refurbished and put that in the request. Not saying that's why we got a refurbished room but we ended up with one. Really like the 2 bedrooms.

I’ve stayed in a okw studio several times and all the balconies are small and look into the living room of the larger unit next to it. I’ve probably stayed in an okw studio about 10 times and this is always the case. The only nice balcony, imho, is the one off the one bedroom (or two bedroom). Are all balconies on the studios exactly the same? Just curious.

To the best of my knowledge, yes they are- another reason to get a one bedroom if you can afford it. I love the view from building 15.

Yes, you pretty much have to lean over the railing to see into the one bedroom living room from the studio porch.
