I have ressies at vwl looking to move at the 7mth window. It's coming up soon Oct 27-Nov 6th Is there any rooms that are better than others. We will have DS 11 DS 5 DS 2 and DD 1. We are renting a van while we are there. Also should I move our ressie day by day or wait till April 6th?
Thanks!

Are you looking for a 2 BR at OKW? I have some room reports from there. Near HH, what floor, what type of view? Some nice golf course view ones on Penninsula Road, but the ones I've heard of were on upper floors, if that's what you want. Close to HH? Nice report on one in Building 13, first floor, near HH and a bus stop.

Like Sarabi, I too like to stay close to the HH. I stayed in building 14 recently. It was very quiet. Just a few steps from the HH. And it also has a nice little pond and fountain right outside your room. I also like to stay in 23 and 62. Again they are great views and lots of ducks, rabbits and birds to feed while you relax on the deck.

We always stay in walking distance of the HH. We've been very happy in Bldgs 13, 16 and 64.

When we were there in Dec/Jan, we were in Bldg. 13. They were refurbishing the units in part of the building. Ours hadn't been done, but definitely needed to have some of the furnishings replaced, and some other upgrading. (We had a leaky bathroom faucet, squeeky bed, etc.)
But, we were on the second floor, and had a good view of the fireworks from Pleasure Island, and a quick walk to the HH.

We've stayed in 14 twice. The first time, we had a nice quiet room, so I didn't worry when we were assigned there the second time. But I was wrong---we were on the wrong end of the building and listened to the traffic over the bridge all night and in the early morning.

When you check in, have them show you on the map "exactly "where" in the building your unit it. It can make all the difference.

You must be talking aabout a 2 bedroom, I don't think a GV would be too practical for you with all those little ones up stairs and you down stairs. At any rate there are no bad 2 bedrooms at OKW as far as I am concerned. you may want to try and get close to HH because that pool has a kiddie pool. I would wait until April 6, because you do not want to get into a situation where you would get caught without a room on one of the days. May I ask whay are you trying to get a 2 bedroom at OKW, WLV would seem a great place to stay with those little ones???

Sorry for the delay for some reason I never got all these replies. I don't have enough points for VWL for a 2 bedroom. I will have to call back and request building 13 or 14 anyone have any good pictures of OKW? I would love to see or the room reports. Thanks

Rooms at OKW are huge. You will have plenty of space for your entire young army.

I'm not sure I would request a specific building. I would instead request to be near HH, if that is what you are most interested in. Making specific building or room requests can lead to disapointment. I personally don't think there are any really bad places at OKW. There certainly are some downsides of some buildings though. For example, 64 does not have it's own parking lot, and some of the first floor units in some of the buildings are very secluded in trees, so there is not much view. I don't personally consider that a detriment, but some do.

If you are going to have a car, I personally don't think that being near the HH is that important. We have stayed in the Turtle Pond area a few times and have liked it very much. Some people like to be near the HH because they don't have a car and want to be able to walk to Olivia's or the main pool. However, there are quite a few buildings that are a short (< 5 mins) walk to that area. We've used both the main pool and the quiet pools and both are very nice. Obviously once the slide is installed, the main pool will have more of a draw for some people. Personally, I would much rather have a nice view of the water and/or the golf course than be near the HH, but you need to decide what is important for you and your family.

You might want to NOT stay near HH for a trip at the end of this year. The main pool will be closed because of the slide construction, so being near one of the quiet pools would be a better idea. I also am one who does not think being near HH is a must. In fact, we usually prefer South Point which is farthest from HH. Everything is so easily accessible with the bus, that it isn't an issue. Even walking from South Point to HH is only the equivalent of about 3 blocks, so no biggie.

Wow thanks so much!! I like all the information. I guess that's why I love this site so much. The pictures were great. We will have a van when we are down there and I'm glad you pointed out the fact the main pool will be closed. One other question if I can. We have another person traveling with us staying in a studio what is the likelness that they will be in the same building?

Make that request when you get the reservation, and they will try to get you in the same building. We have done this a couple of times, and have always gotten both in the same building.
