OKW Room Report

We stayed in a dedicated 2BR at OKW for our 1st trip home 9/28-10/2/2006. Our Room was 5632. The room was spacious, appeared clean and smelled OK. The view was a wooded area. It was FAR from the HH but a short walk to a quiet pool, which we were surprised to see was pretty large and nice, with a hot tub and playground equipment, too. This location was also very close to the walkway to DTD, which is a nice perk. The bad thing about this building is that is is next to a bus stop, so you frequently hear loud busses going by.

All OKW quiet pools are fairly large and have a playground and hot tub The Turtlr Pond quiet pool also has a seasonal snack bar, offering a limited menu.

If you would have been 1 building over (55) it would have been the BEST of all those things, because you would have been farther from the road. We love that area, not only for that particular quiet pool, but also because we like being the second bus stop!

You're right about that - i felt like I got a double dose of pixie dust when we checked in on Sept 19 for 10 nights- first the room was ready at noon and it was in building 55 on the second floor with the most glorius view. It is also the building listed on our deed and this was the first time we have been lucky enough to get it. Several evenings I had the pool completely to myself as well as the hot tub - talk about luxury!!! The second thing was that we had other guests checking in on the 24th and had requested a studio near our 2 bedroom - hoping to get it in the same general area. - another helping of PD it was in the same building and at the same end of the building. I would love to have this location again in December but will be happy anywhere. OKW is truly my favorite and I own at BCV and SSR as well so could have had other locations at the 11 month window but chose to use the 11 mo window for a 2 BR at Christmas and used the 7 month window and SSR points for the Sept trip. .

I love that Southpoint area of OKW. I requested for our trip in January.

We stayed in a studio in building 56 OKW from Sept. 24-30. The room was in good shape. Although, we heard the buses, we didn't think they were as bad as in February when we stayed in building 52. The distance to the HH seems far but it is not really far to walk. We never took a bus. But then we walk almost daily anyway and did not have children with us so it didn't seem like a long walk to us. I agree with others, building 55 is great but we have only been lucky enough to get it on our first visit. On the other hand, our studio in building 56 was ready at 10:00 a.m. so that worked out great for us.
