:confused3 Was wondering about the best place to stay w/ kids 3,6,12
We have not stayed at OKW before. We own at BC, SSR and WL.Thanks, JWB

We will be there from 2/21 to 2/28

Do you have the near HH area reserved or not? Near HH is buildings 11-14, 23-26.

Will you have a car? If not, you would probably want to be near a bus stop.

Would you prefer a water or golf course view?

when i booked for May last week i was told all the HH had been booked and i was in the quiet area!!..

If you can't get near the HH, ask for something on Miller's Pond Rd. near the small pool. When you pull into OKW, Miller's Pond Rd. is the right turn opposite the HH. This area has it's own small pool and is a short walking distance from the HH and the main pool, kind of putting you in both the quite area and HH area. I believe the bldgs around the small pool are something like #17,18 & 19.

Something to think about: The first year we stayed at OKW we requested a room near a bus stop, at the suggestion of some well-meaning DISers. Indeed, that short walk was great! But what was NOT great, was the sound of buses pulling up to and away from said bus stop all day and night. They went right past our windows. Now, we're city people, and we're used to noises. But for some reason those buses drove me to the brink of insanity! Last year we opted for a longer walk to the bus stop, but the peace and quiet was heaven!!! :-)

Just something to consider when making that room request. :-)

I know what you mean-the room one person loves may not work for someone else. Do you want to be near a quiet pool? Near the main pool? Water? a view of the golf course? The HH? We loved building 15 for the closeness to HH, view of golf course, quietness. But I'll admit, it was a long walk from a bus stop or a quiet pool.

I agree. Even though OKW seems very large, each of the OKW areas are more compact, and it's only a 2 minute walk from most buildings to the nearest bus stop.

We request the quieter areas and find it very easy to get to the main building and main pool. Just jump on the 1st bus that comes by and be sure to verify with the driver that there will be a stop at the HH (the last stop on the route). When ready to return, walk across the road to the first bus stop (again, ~ 2 minutes) and get on the first bus that comes to get back to your room.

Water view, I will have a car. How do I reserve the near HH area?
Thanks JWB

It's an actual reservation category, like boardwalk view at BWV.

My favorite water views are on Turtle Pond Road. Buildings 37 & 43 are great, the busses do not pass those buildings but the bus stop is a short walk.

Since you have a car, you can drive up to the main area if you don't want to walk.
