I just booked a week at OKW through a time share I own with II. I called Disney to request ME be added...but they said they could not do because they don't have access to the reservation. Ok - I guess I can call II and try to arrange. BUT....I'm a bit nervous now since Disney doesn't have the reservation......has anyone else ever done this. Anything I need to know?? Thanks in advance.

The regular Disney cash resort system does not have access to DVC reservations. You will need to call DVC Member Services to book ME with an II trade. The Member Services contact info should be included with your II reservation confirmation.

Memeber Services can also add the Dining Plan to your II reservtion, if you wish.

I traded online - so maybe the number will come with the hard ressie from II. BUT....the ressie is for next Friday. Will try to get my hands on DVC Member Service number from a DVC owner I know. Thanks for the info.

I usually trade into DVC twice a year from II and whether I do it on line or call a rep they usually just e-mail the confirmation. I haven't received a copy in the mail for several years. If you didn't get an e-mail I would call II and have them get it out to you.

You will have to call member services anyway to pay your $95. I recently got a guest certificate for someone for a reservation at OKW. I called member services to add the dining plan (I am a DVC owner) and they said the guest would have to call because it was no longer in my name. I said I didn't realize anyone other than a member could call MS but they said the $95 fee entitled them to anything MS offered.

Thanks for the info - just checked my email and low and behold I have the info needed to make the call. Glad I checked cuz I didn't know about the $95 fee - but that is no big thing. So....you mention I could add Disney Dining - didn't know that was an option either. (can you tell this is all kinda new to me!). Anything else I should know? Thanks so much!

For the DDP, you have to get it all days and for all people. For an exchange that means 7 nights even if you don't stay the entire time. When you do the exchange online there's a page where it states the $95 prominently and you have to say OK. If you did it on the phone, they'd tell you about it then. You will get one Trash and Towel during the week and no cleaning. If by chance you have a studio, you need to post back to make sure you understand what is and is not included. For a 1 BR or larger they will have full kitchen facilities and a W/D. They'll furnish a total of two individual boxes of tide during the week (one at Trash and Towel), same for coffee. If you need decaif, just call when you get there and ask for it, they'll swap it out.

DVC changes the information over manually so it takes them a while to get it done. I'd call MS and make sure they have the info all settled. They can look it up by the DVC reservation # which is on your confirmation as the last sentence in the grid on the right hand side on page 1. The II confirmation # won't help them look it up. They can look to see if it's been changed already and if not, they can get with II if needed.

We book thru II all the time for Disney. I have never been told on the Internet or verbally about the $95fee. (But, I have to go thru my timeshare company to book II) I didn't find out until check-in the first time we exchanged for the world. Although, it was clearly stated in the hard copy confirmation I received. I just didn't read the fine print.:)

The only place I didn't get charged the fee was at Vero Beach.

You can call Ms without being a DVC member and they will help you with paying the fee and setting up ME and DD if you wish.

When you check-in they treat you as if you were a DVC member. I am also a DVC member and I have never noticed a difference in treatment. Always Great!!!

Dean did a great job of stating what to expect from Houskeeping etc.

Have a great trip!!

My fee was taken before II would confirm the reservation! It sounds like they do different things for different people; by the way, it cost me $185, $95 for MS and the rest for II, I guess!:scared1:

I thought you couldn't buy DDP unless you are a DVC owner or on a package? Are you saying you can on an exchange? How much is it?

Yes you can get it on an exchange. The price is about a dollar lower than last year, maybe $37? It no longer includes an appetizer or the tip. I think put I'm not sure that the snack choices may be more limited also.

Thanks for the info....this is a very last minute trip for us - booked yesterday and leaving this Friday. So, I have been scrambling to make ADRs - was going to see how many TS ones I got before I made the DDP descision....that was until I read your post. THANKS - I wasn't even thinking that I had to book it for the entire stay period - cuz we are only going to be there for 5 nights. Not worth it - I will never be able to eat my way through all that food!

We have stayed at DVC before - both with ressie via WDW and with rented points. This whole II thing is just new to me (we received the II ownership as a gift for Christmas from a relative that never used it). So, I am trying to use up the banked weeks she had.

I don't recall seeing the $95 when I made the ressie online - but then I will also admit I didn't read all the fine print. No worries - that $95 is a bargain for me to stay in a one bedroom for 5 nights!

Thanks for all the info!!!!

This may have already been mentioned in a post, but I believe you are supposed to pay the $95 before you check in. Possibly 48 hours in advance?

It's listed in the book and on the webpage about the extra fee. IF you book online, one of the disclaimer pages you have to accept lists it as well. In every case I've done it over the phone, they've always mentioned it and that seems to be the concensus on TUG from what I've seen. HH and VB do not have the fee. It's also listed on the confirmation

You can pay it on arrival if you let them know. I've never heard of anyone being turned away and know of people that arrived not knowing. It is paid separately at check in and will be charged, not added to the bill for the room.

I have never paid the 95.00 before I go and I don't call them. At check in there will always be an envelope waiting for you with the bill in it. They say it covers the cost of transportation. DW is the only timeshare that clips you at check in with fees other than some islands with utility costs.

Is the DDP 37.00 per day per person or family or what? I can't believe I just came back fri. and never even thought it was possible. I definately would have used it.

$37.99, per adult, per night of your stay. Children 9 and under are $9.99 per night.

It's actually a resort services fee and not for transportation. If you push DVC, they will tell you it is simply to fund the exchange service as there's nothing you get that you wouldn't get if they didn't charge it. Early on they did list it as a "resort services/transportation fee" but they dropped the transportation after a year or two because transportation is provided for all.

how far in advance can a DVC member deposit inventory into II?

Actually a DVC member can't deposit a unit. They can give up points for deposit as long as they have the points. The points then go into a pool of points and DVC does periodic deposits from ALL resorts. The same booking guidelines have to be followed as for making a reservation thus the earliest a unit should show up in II is 10 months and 3 weeks. DVC doesn't do developer deposits, but if they did, they could deposit these up to 12 months out. A member can search up to 2 years out request first. DVC is the only system I know of where one can do such a search first that far out without commiting your points until you find a match. Marriott can search that far out for Marriott only but for other resorts, it's only up to the date of the unit in question.

Those of you that have traded into DVC via II, can I ask what resorts you have deposited units from that have resulted in successful trades? Have you been able to trade into DVC at all times of the year?
