Had reservations at WLV for six days (8-14 Nov), after hearing about the NJ crouds decided to change dates. Want to start on the 11th but no cosecutive nights in one place. So had to accept OKW, had to use at least 85 point (or loose them). So ended up with an eight day sat 12-20 Nov. Any suggestions on prefered view or building?

I would request near the Hospitality House. As a smoker I always request Bldg.25. It's close to the Main pool and shops.

Units 11 thru 14 our right across the street from the Hospitality House and the main pool. Units 19 & 20 our also nice, have a quite pool next to it and the bus stop is right out front. What are you referring to when you say the NJ crowd?? We have been to OKW several times in November, and I don't know of anything special for NJ? Just curious!

We have stayed all over OKW, and have never had a bad view anywhere. The only negetive thing we had was once we were in building 45, and it was a long way to bus stops and pools. We prefer the quiet pools to the main one. I would not request a specific building, but a preference like non-smoking, close to pool, near bus stop etc. I think you will be happier and more likely to get what you want that way than to specify a particular building.

In Nov. the NJ teachers have their convention at Alantic City. But many of them go to WDW instead. At least this is what I have been told by many CM's, who refer to it as NJ teachers week.

My wife being a teacher, we frequently go during that week.

It definitely seems more crowded than one would expect, as compared to other 'off season' months that we have visited in. (then again I don't have a frame of reference for the rest of Nov., so maybe November in general is busier then the rest of the 'slow' periods?)

WE always stay in the turtle pond area. Great pool and location, also near a bus stop. JP:rolleyes:

We love to go N.J. week. Yes there are a lot of us, but not enough to fill the park. This is a great time to go, the lines are short and we find it easy to get to one the shows on short notice. P.S. We come to FLA to get out of Jersey,so we cant be that bad. Can we?

Went to WDW last year from Oct. 27-November 5th! After Halloween it was dead! (No pun intended).

That's why we're going Oct 31-Nov 12! Can't wait to meet the teach from Jersey!

Many DVCr's are from NY/NJ and CT! Yah!

We stayed in building 64 last December. It was a non-smoking 2 Bdr on the 3rd floor. It had a beautiful view of the 7th green of the LBV golf course. This was also the same building a poster a few weeks ago said they saw several otters frolicking in the water that surrounds the green. It is also just across the street from the Hospitality House and main pool.

Ceejay13-

Was your 2 bedroom a lockoff or just a regular 2 bedroom? I am trying to find out if the lockoffs are available in all buildings or just some.

We stayed in building #62 twice; once in a 2 BR lockoff and once in a dedicated 2 BR. We also stayed in Building 64 once in a 2 BR lockoff...I don't know if there are dedicated 2 BRs there.

Anyone-

Is there much of a difference between the lockoffs and the dedicated 2 bedrooms? Which would you recommend?

The lockoff 2 bedrooms are actually a 1 bedroom plus a studio with the connecting door opened. You have 2 outside entrances, one from the 1 bedroom side and one from the studio side (second bedroom). The studio side has a kitchenette. In the dedicated 2 bedroom, an additional closet takes the place of the outside door in the second bedroom and an extra bathroom sink and counter take the place of the kitchenette. It is called dedicated because it cannot be split into a 1 bedroom & studio.

If you have 2 families staying together, the lockoff might be better because the family in the second bedroom would have their own entrance and kitchenette. If you're one family with small children in the second bedroom, you probably don't want them to have a separate entrance and the kitchenette. I stayed in a dedicated 2 bedroom at OKW with 3 friends, I shared the second bedroom with 1 of them. It was nice to have 2 bathroom sinks to get ready in the morning, plus we each had our own closet. We all used the main kitchen. OKW and WLV have both lockoffs and dedicated 2 bedrooms. BWV is strictly lockoffs.

On our 2nd stay in Building #62, we stayed in the dedicated 2 BR. DD said that she liked it better than the lockoff because it had the extra closet and the second sink. Of course, she needs more room for storage, etc with the 3 boys and the baby!

To tell you the truth, I did not notice the difference until she pointed it out.

KAMLEM,

Our 2 bdr, 6430, was a dedicated 2 bedroom. We haven't experienced a lock-off yet so I can't compare. I can tell you we absolutely loved our stay at OKW last December and we are BWV owners. The rooms are huge and we had one of our best vacations ever.

Just wondering, does anybody know how many dedicated 2br's there are compared to lock-offs. Thanks for the help.:bounce:

According to the public offering statement dated 4/99 (which would have been before the 3 new buildings), OKW had 274 dedicated 2 br's, 226 lockoffs (1 bedrooms & studios).

Kamlem,

Sorry for the late reply but 6430 was a dedicated 2 bdr. We have never stayed in a lock-off.
