OKW request??

DH and I are new members and planning our first trip for the week of Labor Day. Pts should be in the system today so I want to be ready (name was yesterday, she told me to call again today to make reservations, fingers crossed!)

We have decided to take MIL and FIL on our first trip and after tons and tons of thinking, we have landed on OKW as our first choice for a 2BR. (save on pts, likely to get it at 5 months and HUGE rooms!)

We will spend a lot of time at the resort, kids will be 5 and almost 2. Where should we request? We will drive and have 2 cars so bus stops are not an issue. I would like to be in walking distance to the main pool.

IF YOU LIKE TO BE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE FROM MAIN POOL REQUEST NEAR HH AND PENINSULAR IS NICE LOCATION. WE HAVE STAYED EVERYWHERE AT OKW. THIS LAST TRIP IN MAR WE STAYED AT PENNINSULAR 2BR ON GROUND FLOOR FACING LARGE POND ON GOLFCOURSE. OUR ROOMS WERE QUIET. IN THE MORNING WHEN YOU OPENED THE DOOR TO PATIO ALL YOU COULD HEAR WAS THE FOUNTAIN. WE HAD CHOICE EITHER WALK OUT TO BUS STOP AT PENNINSULAR OR WALK ACROSS BRIDGE TO HH AND CATCH BUS OR BOAT THERE. PENNINSULAR IS FIRST STOP INTO THE COMPLEX SO IF YOU JUST MISSED THE BUS YOU WANTED YOU COULD WALK OVER TO HH AND CATCH SAME BUS ON WAY OUT. WE WERE 5 MIN WALK FROM MAIN POOL OLIVIAS THE STORE AND CHECK IN. NO MATTER WHERE YOU STAY THERE YOUR CAR IS RIGHT NEAR YOUR DOOR. BUT I DONT RECCOMEND USING YOUR CAR TO GO TO THE PARKS. MAYBE TAKE THE CAR IF YOUR GOING TO AKL TO BOMA FOR DINNER.WE LIKE THE RELAXING ATMOSPHERE THERE. WE WILL BE THERE ON SEPT 11th BEFORE MEMBER CRUISE THEN 3 DAYS AFTER MEMBER CRUISE. ITS NOT OUR HOME RESORT BUT IS OUR FAVOURITE.

Well, to be nearest to the pool you can request HH section which is a booking category. Bldg. 15 (not in HH Cat.) but close to HH and what I consider walking distance, 10 minutes, to the pool is one of my favorite buildings. The views of the golf course and water ways/fountains, we really enjoy, and if your in-laws have no issues with stairs, the views are wonderful from the 2nd floor. If you want just water views and don't mind being further from HH and the main pool, my two other favorite bldngs. are 45 and 46. I also like Bldg. 55 & 56, near a quiet pool and the BBQ grills. You can't go wrong with OKW and a 2 bedroom, that balcony will extend your living space. It's wonderful to have drinks, dinner, morning coffee, etc. and enjoy the views, the landscaping, pointing out the ducks and bunnies to your children. You're in for a wonderful time.!

Thank you very much! I was able to get a 2BR at OKW I requested HH and ground floor. I'm glad that HH is a booking category. We should be close to the pool then, yes? Stairs will be an issue for my FIL and that is the reason I didn't even ask if there was availability at BWV.

Where is the boat dock from the HH? Is it in walking distance? I think it would be fun to take the ferry to DTD for dinner one night.

I am really excited about OKW! The 2BRs look huge and that will be a big plus! We typically vacation with my ILs at the beach in a big house so I know they like to feel at home during the week.

Yes, if you booked HH, you will be close to the main pool. The boat dock is next to the main pool. You will enjoy all the space at OKW and the size of the balcony.
