Hey everyone - how's everybody? I haven't been on the boards for about a week - why? Cause I was at Disney!!!!!! Yeah! The only bummer was coming back home to reality and snow snow snow! Anyway, just want to post quickly about our stay at OKW.
This was the first time we stayed "home" in other than our BWV (home resort). We couldn't get it as we booked this vacation just a few months ago, so we reluctanly went with OKW! Well - I have to say it was a wonderful wonderful stay and reluctance won't come into it again. It is a beautiful resort, very spread out - very comfy. The rooms are as huge as everyone says they are! I loved having a full washer and dryer and came home with almost no dirty laundry! I had pictures of the rooms, but DD deleted them from digital to fit pics of her adventures with DS and best friend in WDW, so I'll have to tell you about it instead of show you - sorry
Walking in there is a large closet right by the entrance door, put all DS stuff in there. There was a hallway to the left of front door leading to laundry room on left of hallway with toilet/shower/vanity bathroom through a door on the opposite end of the laundry room. End of hallway was the master bedroom! Gorgeous! Spacious! Everything in the villa was in great shape - no dirt, no mold - no dust, not even scuff marks or anything on the walls! There was a door off the bedroom out onto the porch, which is big, pretty and had a table and four chairs, a ceiling fan/light too. Also off bedroom is the jacquzzi "room" with a sink and mirror and shelving, and a large closet with a small in room safe. Bedding for the pull out sofa and port-a-crib was in this closet. Vacuum cleaner and high chair was in front closet. In the laundry room hangs a broom and a mop. There is also an ironing board and iron, laundry basket and wash bucket. Blow dryer is located in the toilet/shower part of the bathroom. If you were to go straight into the villa from the front door you would be in the living room part of a very large room. In the living room area is a chair and lamp, pull out sofa, love seat & living room table. Off to the left of this large room is a "center island". Facing the living room in this island is where the t.v./dvd player is located. The left wall of the large room is the kitchen, plenty of cabinet and counter space, double sink, dishwasher, full frig/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, then an area with shelves and cabinets, and a countertop where we put the laptop, phone chargers, etc. My DD and her friend put all their clothes in these cabinets, which were empty expect for the ice bucket. Past the kitchen area and also on the left side of the room is a table and four chairs for dining with a hanging light above it. The center of the ceiling is a ceiling fan. There's two lamps in the living room part - one phone (also a phone in the bedroom). There's overhead lighting over the kitchen cabinets. At the end of this room behind the table and chairs is a door to the porch area - so there's two entrances to the porch -one from the bedroom, one from the living room area. The place is beautiful. There's was more than enough storage space for our clothes and things. It was room 3421 (second floor) in the Turtle Pond area, facing a small pond with golf course on the other side of the pond. There were ducks and ibis in the grass below our porch every day, a palm tree on each side of the porch and a gorgeous flowering tree just over the porch rail. We had our car with us, and I think I prefer that in this resort, although there was a bus stop just across and 1/2 way down the block from our "house". The main building and pool was a good 10 minute walk, but my kids (teenagers) loved it anyway. They found other teens, played basketball and volleyball, went in the pool and hot tub, ate at Olivia's, and got lots of snacks at Good to Go. All in all I would definitely stay here again, actually thinking about bringing the parents and getting a two bedroom (could you imagine how big that unit will be?!).
One thing I did notice, was that when we were sitting on the porch you could here lots of cars whizzing by on the closest main road even though we had a pretty secluded spot - nothing to complain about - it is really a great place! Now I understand why OKW owners fall in love with it! More TR coming on trip boards! Have a disney day -
